Before class started today, i was trying to find a seat...I asked this girl in my class if this seat was taken she says no, so i proceed to sit down and chat with my classmates around me... then another hb7.5 classmate of mine approaches me and says in a loud assertive voice:
hb7.5: "What are you doing in my seat?!? Get up, this seats mine..."
Ken785: *confused (she caught me off guard) "Ugh...ok"
Then i proceed to get up...shes says...
hb7.5: LOL..."he got up!"
hb7.5: "Wait...sit back down.."
Ken785: *still confused "huh??"
hb7.5: "Dont let anyone talk to you like that, youre supposed to be like 'B1tch! This is my seat!!'
Ken785:*still confused and shocked "....."
hb7.5: "We were talking about you the other day.." (I was absent)
hb7.5: "We liked your idea on blah blah..."
Then the teacher asked for ideas and i raised my hand....
hb7.5 "Raise your hand higher ken, and be loud, like everyone else"
I did that and was heard....
...so yeah, I was totally AMOG'd by her, in a good way though...this girl is the talkative assertive type...I was never self conscience of my assertiveness before, even though i knew and was told i needed to be so, it hadn't reached my psyche yet kinda.
Today she made me realize it, she taught me a lesson today, a lesson i should have realized a long time ago, I guess I just needed it kicked in my as$ for me to learn, but i'm thankful to her for it. Really made me wake up.
For you guys trying to change into a DJ, remind yourselves that being ASSERTIVE and TAKING CHARGE is one of the main keys...don't be too soft spoken, don't be afraid to speak up with command so you can be heard, also don't take sh1t from anyone!
