My highschool reunion wasn't too long ago. Let me tell yah, it was a lot of single mommy "in clique" girls. Time has not been kind to most of them. Most were divorced. It seemed that the ones who went forward with the perfect life plan hung out together and the bittermaids stuck together. It was an interesting dynamic. I also saw a few nerd to hotties there as well. Then again I'm a fat bastard so, who am I to judge anyone.

What i have found to be surprising (to me at least) is that just because they are hb8's and 9's, it doesn't mean they will get with an "alpha" and live happily ever after.
I think this is a fine example of recent event bias, which plagues most people in our society, not just some HB8s and 9s. Many people presume that they're special, and that if things are going well for them, it's because they innately deserve it for some reason, not because they just happen to be lucky. It's basically the parable of the Ant and the Grasshopper, except that it applies to sexual selection. And much like that parable, there are some HB8s and 9s who choose wisely, and others (the majority) who choose poorly.

I know women who were insanely hot when they were in their late teens/early twenties, but they've aged relatively gracefully and, more importantly, made wise decisions with their lives. They married quality guys before their looks disappeared, and they're now still happily married, raising kids and generally enjoying quality lives. Also, the smart HB8s, 9s and 10s (yes guys, some of them are smart) never relied on their looks alone. They worked hard and made something of their lives independent of their looks.

But I know many more women that never realized there would be an end to the party. Ever since they first developed boobs, they had been nearly (in a few cases, literally) worshiped by countless men who would have done anything for them. Naturally, these women never thought a day would come when this would stop; it was all they had known since puberty. But, indeed, the day came when their primary assets had wrinkled and/or sagged. And unlike their HB8/9 sisters who made wise decisions, these women were left with no real skills to fall back on nor quality matches to marry. Cue the sad tuba from The Price is Right.

I don't think this is sad. I think it's nature. We reap what we sow. Make the most of what you've got while you got it, because it will not last forever.

Some move up the Ladder...

What's missing here are the girls who never got much attention when they were younger, but as they matured, their whole character evolved. At my first couple high school reunions, guys would whisper "Now I remember why I didn't have any girlfriends back then." Later on the guys were saying, "Mmm, those girls don't look so bad now!"
My recentest sweetheart was 50+ or so-- she never told me her true age; men all had crushes on her (but I was the one banging her). Bod-wise she had some minuses, but she's just really adorable otherwise.
Most of us older guys don't have the patience to be overly judgemental about looks. When we see what else is out there, it can get scary.
My old cougar was fifty when we split for the last time. She was smoking hot with her clothes on; when they came off, I didn't care.
