Genetically I have a small bone structure. I have always had a 6 pack, and you could always see my muscles because of very low body fat. I am a very active person, and everyone's always told me I had a nice body. But what I have is skinny muscle.

I want to become bigger in mass, mass that you can see even though I am wearing a shirt. And I'm doing this for myself, because it will make me happy. Not for anyone else...

But after some research, I have come across a couple of questions. I need an experienced person's advice.

1. I read somewhere here that the only way to get big and muscular is to use things like creatine or get on steroids. Maybe they were wrong, but either way, I don't want to do that. Is that true? Do I really have to use steroids just to get the build I want?

2. I have come to realize that all the people whose body structures I would like to have....naturally naturally big bones.

Is it still possible for me to be big like that with time, only through diet and weight training? I'm looking for a 50 cent type of structure, slightly larger than lean basketball player builds. My natural build is that of a feather-weight boxer.

3. I am also wondering about bar pull-ups. Would those help to build mass? "Hood" kids that don't have access to the gym always use pull up bars, like the walk/don't walk signs on the corner or the park and they rip up like that.

As you can probably tell I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to body building. I read Diesel's guide, but I don't recall anything about bone structure. Is a large build possible for a person like me?

Just need straight to the point answers and advice. No flames, don't waste my time or yours.

1. No.
2. Yes.
3. Yes to an extent. Pull up bars work your lats and biceps as well as your shoulders to an extent however they should be an exercise used in your weight regimen, instead of being the core of your program.

Do you think Arnold used creatine back in the day? No way, the word didnt exist. He's in the guiness book of records for the best body ever [I think]

Maybe you wont look like the person you most want to look like. Maybe that wouldnt look good on you. But who the hell decided that cause something is unlikely, that something isnt gonna happen? If someone said you couldnt down a pint, would you agree, or give it a blast to prove them wrong.

Get out there and hit the weights. Dont ask if it's possible, put your balls on the table and do it, dont TRY. Just do it.

1. No.
2. Yes. <---- spot on
3. Yes to an extent.

Bone structure has a much weaker correlation that your genetic potential, which is the deciding factor. For bodybuilders with small bone structures, look up Darrem Charles and Flex Wheeler.

#1 No, proper diet and hard work is only thing you require.

#2 You are an ectomorph and is very unlikely you will get that kind of phisique.. It is quite obvious that you are not genetically gifted to gain mass. You may end up having ja rule's physique rather than 50 cent's.

#3 Yes, but I actually prefer chin-ups. It targets my bicep muscles well.

1. nope you dont needs supps or AAS to make gains. supps really arent all that great. and steroids wont do you much good unless you have extensive knowledge on them and real experience w/ diet and intense exercise. intensity comes with experience in the weight room.

2. you wont ever be a pro bber w/o drugs but you will be surprised what you can do w/ a good diet and workout routine over time.

it takes time, and it will take you longer, but you can do it.

50 cent is not really that big.

your muscle will look really good when you have an appreciable amouint because of yoiur smaller extremites and waist.

A small bone structure is great, because it highlights the size of your muscles. Bodybuilding is an illusion - a small wrist and thick forearm makes you look bigger than you actually are.

So dont worry, gain the weight and you will see that having smaller joints gives you a larger look.

Anyway, goodluck bro.

I'm an ectomorph myself. Six foot four inches and small-boned.

Check out NBA players. They're all ectomorphs. That's about the maximum muscles that ectos can achieve . . . which. though not great, in fact is still pretty good. :)

The best thing you can do as an ecto is to eat lots of protein, at least one gram per pound of bodyweight. And make sure not to overtrain. I make better gains when I limit myself to no more than 2 or 3 days in the gym a week, plus take a week off every 2 months.

Don't always be the one putting yourself out for her. Don't always be the one putting all the effort and work into the relationship. Let her, and expect her, to treat you as well as you treat her, and to improve the quality of your life.

It's not a universal rule, but ectomorphs tend to overtrain more easily than people with other body types.

But really the thing to do is field test it. If you find that you're not making gains every week, then you might be overtraining--i.e., putting too much strain on your central nervous system, not giving your muscles time to grow.

Nah no way man, NBA players are not bodybuilders, an ecto bodybuilder can make a NBA player look like a rail, you sorta gave a vague example though.
