Yea, I had skype with Vista Ultimate, but that thing annoyed me so I went to Server 2003 R2, think a newer version of XP. I noticed that skype affects computer shutdown.

With skype, when I press shutdown or restart it will first shutdown skype and then nothing will happen. I would have to press shutdown or restart again to make it do the thing.

If, however, I exit skype manually, it will shutdown or restart like it should.

I bet XP users will have the same problems, 2003 R2 server is pretty much the same thing, give or take a few things.

Let me know the solution, I kind of like the spyke, and will be using it to talk to chicks, its like a phone and video at the same time. Just connected with my buddy yeterday, Im loving it.

Or, Or! You can not download the latest version because 2.whatever works perfectly fine with my wireless handset box.

Oh, and shutdown is fine?

The Second CD for server 2003 (the R2 part) is just a set of tools for managing corporate networks.

It will run fine if you don't install the secnd disc even if it asks for it. I'm using it right now as I type.

Congratulations. You just installed ablout 400mb of useless tools and services on your PC that use precious resources (services do).

BTW. SP2 for Server 2003 is recently out. Reccomend you update.

If you knew what the problem was, then why ask?

And who you calling a newb? Its your own damn problem you didn't give enough info. Are we supposed to guess what the problem is and magically get it right?

Fool.

See above. Asking questions to which you already know the answer.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say that there was no problem at all in the first place. You just want attention, you troll.

It's probably caused by Vista since Vista sucks balls. You should switch back to Windows XP way more stable. I know this I have a friend who works at Bestbuy and other computer shops and Vistas already have huge problems.

That's because most computers crawl while running Vista. Even new computers. Its a hog.

And it was rushed to meet the deadline. If you want an okay Vista system, wait a few months for SP1. It may fix the giant gaping holes in the system.

Or switch to Mac.

Ya that's why I said people should just stick to Windows XP, which is better than both Vista and Mac OS X. I used a mac before and it sucks, it's only good for art and installing or downloading. I had a G4 and it was SLOW AS HELL and it's way too expensive for what you get. Almost 99.9% of the program crashes and once it crashes you have no way to recover the MOFO, you can't drag and drop either.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Still no drag and drop?

I thought they fixed that.
Maybe they did for the new 3 grand mac, I only used the G4 and it blew so much that I was forced to buy a 1.5 grand PC, ASAP. I think Microsoft should just buy out apple since noone will care, except for the "antitrust" people.

If Microsoft buys out Apple, then we're all screwed.

Its good not to let them have a monopoly. Look at what happens. Tried Vista lately?

Oh and BTW, you got shafted on your PC. I can get the same $1500 Dell/HP/Compaq PC for less than a thousand after taxes. You just have to know where to buy the hardware and put it together. Or in my case, pay the store where I buy the parts $10 and they do it for me!

I meant the 1.5 grand as a goodthing, since it's faster than the NEW MAC and it costed half since I had my friend build it from scrach and it's probably faster and more reliable that all the PC in Bestbuy and cheaper too cuz I bought the parts online individually. More people should do this since if you buy a computer at Bestbuy or CompUSA (Assh#les who broke my first computer so they didn't have to repair it.) they include "service charge" in the price.

Well if Mac is gone then there's still linux and there probably will be another company that'll take it's place like panasonic.

Still. Its always nice to have Mac around. If its just linux against Microsoft, they have no chance. This levels they playing field. At least Mac OSX is better in most respects than Vista anyway.

I bought and use Vista Business x64. I haven't had issues with it, except for breaking compatibility with really OLD programs. I think that's only an issue with 64-bit. But then again 32-bit Vista is pointless. 32-bit has a 4GB RAM ceiling, which won't be sufficient, especially in a few years. Recall that XP came out in 2001, Vista came out just this year. It'll probably be years before Microsoft can some out with something newer.

But:

I have an ATI Video Card; ATI had the drivers ready right away.

I don't use SLI/Crossfire; I don't know about ATI, but I know NVidia STILL doesn't have Vista SLI drivers.

I have 2GB RAM, which I think is barely enough.

I refuse to use VOIP. That's what land-lines are for.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.

There's always XP 64-bit if you really want to use that. Or Server 2003 also comes in 64-bit.

Its kind of pointless though. You don't even have anywhere near 4GB of ram. So why worry? And 64-bit is incompatible with alot of applications, and there are very few native 64-bit applications out there that fully take advantage of the processor and adressable memory.

You're jumping on the bandwagon way too soon in my opinion.
