Silverwex's NEW Workouts: 1 - Bicep/Back Day

Hey guys,

Just wondering what you think of my new back/bicep routine. I had to change it as my body became too accustumed with the current workout and I wanna keep on gaining. Is it a good workout?

OLD WORKOUT for BACK/BICEP DAY (in order):

4 sets x Wide Grip Pull-Ups

4 x Bend over rows and 1 burnout

4 x Bicep curls

3 x EZ Curl bar curls

NEW WORKOUT (in order):

4 sets x bend over rows and 1 burnout

4 x wide grip pull-ups

4 x EZ Curl bar curls

4 x Hammer curls (using tricep bar)

2 x Random bicep excercises to kill off those babies! Maybe straight bar curls...

What do you guys think? Thanks.

wtf is a burnout?? more sets for biceps doesn't mean your biceps will grow more.....instead it will probably grow less b/c of overtraining.

burnout is when you do a light set after an excercise to burnout the muscle.

Im not overtraining my biceps, just wanna give em a good workout.

Anyone else have any opinions on this new routine? Lifeforce, you there? :D

4.i would have given you some input about some other work out routines/exerices that you can try what is best for you, but my screenname isn't lifeforce so you wouldnt have listened anyway, im outta here.

wow, double, calm it down will ya?

just looking for different points of view. chill man. anyway, lifeforce has given me so much info on all this and i was just wondering if he was around, but anyones (incl. yours) point of view is more than welcome.

i want you to tell me HOW you know you're not overtraining. you sound confident, now i want you to back it up
im only using two main excercises (incl. 2 quick sets of random excercises) to target the biceps specifically. thats the same as the skinnyguy routine except im using a diff excercise to target the area.

doesn't mean i am talking bull****
I didnt say you were 'talking bull****'.

nobody knows what works best for your body, there are only some things you can try and see what works best
good point.

i would have given you some input about some other work out routines/exerices that you can try what is best for you, but my screenname isn't lifeforce so you wouldnt have listened anyway, im outta here.
ok, well enjoy your day but any input is greatly appreciated.

well, i read the skinny guy book in the last two days and i have to say that i thought it would be better. yeah, it is good, but some minor things are wrong and it is for sure not perfect. look, the skinnyguy routine advices the compound exercises that are
bentoverrows
benchpress/dips
chinups/pull ups
squats
deads
military press

it advices to not train too often to prevent overtraining.

and plenty of calories and protein

thing is i'm only doing the compound exercises, and i eat even more protein and calories then the skinnyguy routine advices, so i feel free to say that i'm doing an improved skinnyguy routine;)

what i want to tell you is that only because anthony ellis thinks that his routine prevents overtraining, doesn't mean that it does that for you. you CAN overtrain when you use the skinnyguy routine, believe it or not. and also just because lifeforce makes good gains and knows a lot about bodybuilding(more then me) doesn't mean that his workout routine is better than the one i am using. maybe he would make even better gains if he would go for less exercises/sets. maybe not. thing is nobody knows, except if you have tried different work out routines. so please don't say anything like "no i dont overtrain im using skinny guy program just want to pump up my biceps a bit more", and THEN i will be calm, mate:D

Hey my sceen name is lifeforce so I guess I'm the lucky one =)

Biceps are my weak point you know. Nowadays I'm just doing close grip chin-ups and cheat curls with slow negatives to force them to grow. I REALLY have trouble to get the size on my arms. But they seem to be growing now with the new routine.

Hammer curls are pretty much crap that's about what I can say. If you want big arms, bulk up, go heavy on the back exercises. I don't want to advice about stuff I don't know much about.

Cheers double for the info. taken on board!

Thanks lifeforce too. Yeah i find it hard to even hit my biceps properly. But the hammer curls with the tricep bar seems to work ok.

why do you only have like 1.5 back exercises

add deadlifts

your doing more bicep work than back work on that routine.. and back is like a 10 times larger muscle

i also dont think you need to be doing a burnout every time

maybe try these:
deadlift
row
chinup

db curl
preacher curl

then again, whatever works for you, do that. But generally you should have more back exercises than bicep. and do the big 3 compound exercises (bench press, squats, deadlifts)
