60/30/10?!
55/30/15, if you want to keep fat at a minimum. fat isnt bad if you're sensible. Even saturated fat is good, in moderation. I'm on a 55/30/15 and it's going well. 500 carbs is taking the piss though.
40/40/20 is a cutting diet. No doubt about it - unless you're eating about 490carbs. In either case, thats a silly amount of protein.
So a ratio of like 60/30/10 carbs/prot/fat, would be more anabolic then say 40/40/20 right?
Depends. It's more sensible and obtainable. Plus you're often wasting protein on 40/40/20.
"i prefer 60/30/10, using veggies as primary carb source after 4pm.
i dont purposely seek insulin spikes, i dont want to desensitise myself from sugar. get your starchy carbs in all the way up to your post workout meal, then use fibrous afterwards till bed."
Agreed, but I still throw some sugar, caffine and starchy carbs into my post workout meal
20 lbs of actual muscle will probably take anywhere up to a year, if you do it right. But then again, if you're not eating right, maybe longer than a year. Dont buy into this 'I gained 10lbs of muscle on my new 12 week bulking diet!' crap. Everyone on the net seems to... lie... about their gains. Still makes me laugh about the guy on bodybuilding that said he'd been gaining 10lbs of muscle every 13 weeks for the last 3.5 years.
