I am a big fan of the true crime genre and shows on A&E like Cold Case Files and American Justice. I'm not a doctor, but I have wasted a lot of time reading up on these kinds of subjects and watching programs about them.
The biggest trend in sociopathic serial killers is that all of them had something traumatizing happen to them when they were kids. The Iceman was beaten by his dad and all sorts of fvcked up things happened to him at the family level when he was a kid. This triggered something in his personality where his tendency for fearlessness combined with the lack of empathy and emotion he experienced as a child. He turned into one of the most notorious cold-blooded killers of all time because his fearless brand of personality was taught not to feel emotion when he was kid and his dad beat him.
The make-or-break thing for people with these types of personalities seems to be the childhood. I read somewhere that if the Iceman would have had a normal childhood, he'd have probably gone on to do amazing things with his life. His mental programming to completely lack fear would have made him a great soldier or police officer. But because he was robbed of emotion and empathy when he was a kid, he became one of the most legendary mob killers of all time.
Not sure what that means for you, but since you said you had an OK childhood, and I'm assuming you haven't killed anyone yet, I'd think you're probably not as bad of a guy as you described. I lived with business majors in college and a lot of them have tendencies you described. They didn't feel emotion and only saw things in terms of risk and award.
