I get to the stage where I ask her 'so what else do you have going for you beside your looks and stellar career?'

she's obviously insulting me by calling me a random but I dont really know what to say in response, if i go c0cky and arrogant it'll just into a slinging match and me responding to this will just give her attention and validation.

Personally I dont believe in negging as it is a lame mans game. I dont mind freindly teasing but putting someone down lacks class. Her response is rude and arrogant...so I just wouldn't respond and move on. If you cant get an online chick to meet you for a coffee or drink within 3 or 4 emails adios.

I agree.

It's gotten to the point where "neg" is a part of common language. An ex once told me "Some guy negged me at the bar."

Once it's gotten to this point, it's time to just start talking like a regular grownup. If that's not good enough to get the woman, then it's her fault. Not yours.

As far as this particular woman, if you want to ask her out, then go ahead and do it. No point in going back and forth 20 emails, playing games. This isn't a playground.

This is only an issue if you don't deliver negs correctly; meaning they will come off as an insult and make you seem rude.

However, a well placed neg, said correctly will dramatically increase your results with women esp those that are super hot or use to shooting chumps down.

Second issue is separate of the neg; its that whenever you chat over text compared to in person or over the phone, its always tough to judge the context of the words since there isn't any emotion/tone of voice attached to it.

The fact that she put a "haha" would normally indicate that she's being playful and firing right back at the OP.

I personally didn't interpret her reply as rude, I thought he should have upped the ante and see how she replies.
