My girlfriend is the maid of honor at her friends wedding tomorrow. I work so going to the ceremony isnt an option, but she wants me to show up at some point during the reception to "dance with her."
The problem is I would literally not know a single person except for her. (well, I met the bride and groom once briefly). I'm an introvert so making new friends out of a huge group of strangers isn't my favorite hobby, so I'd likely end up following her around like a lost puppy all night. Don't get me twisted though, I am generally the life of the party when I am with people I'm comfortable around. But this particular situation doesn't look too promising for my social proof.
On the other hand there is a small chance that it could turn out to be nothing like I expect and it actually be a great time for both of us.
I'm torn. Should I avoid the potentially ugly situation, or suck it up and just go and have fun. Opinions please!
