Should I get the braces or not?

Well I got some spaces in between my teeth, mainly my top front 2 teeth. I wanted to just get it bonded and the dentist did a preview of it and it looked awesome. He made me see the orthodontist who told me not to get bonding, and that I need braces...AGAIN. I had them when i was 8, now i'm 15. He wont give me invisalign and wants me wearing these dam braces for 1-2 years. I DON'T WANT TO DO THIS...I searched some forums and stuff however and to my surprise..MOST girls seemed to think braces made a guy "cute" or somtimes sexy. I don't see how but HEY

SO what should i do?

A) Get braces (i'll be VERY self-contious..i think)
B) Find a dentist who will just do the bonding
C) Leave it the way it is (spaces aren't THAT THAT big, and I've gotten good looking girls with them)

I'm leaning towards B, however most people (alot of girls, ONLINE..who i DON'T know tell me to just get the braces)

Face it, you're only 15. Once you get to college you'll be glad you did it. Trust me.

Hell when I was 15 I thought everything in High School meant the world but now that I'm 24 giving you this advice is easy. Hell, I wish I had this site and the internet when I was 15. When I was 15 I was laughing at the concept of the internet. I was like "who's gonna use the Internet?"

Back to your braces, I'd get them if I were you if they make the teeth the way you want them. Delayed gratification.

Letting a girl decide for you whether you should get braces or not is ridiculous. Get them because you don't want to either live the rest of your life with nasty teeth, or better yet, you don't want to have braces in college when it's really awkward for you to still wear something like that... Do it now, while it's normal and nobody thinks twice about it.

by the way all i care about is getting the spaces removed, and bonding DOES THAT. It's just i got a overbite so i can get both fixed. I dont care about the overbite though, it doens't bother me. SO i find it silly to wear braces for 2 years over bonding which takes 1 hour and lasts a good amount of time. no?

Shark dude take it from somebody who wore braces at 22, get them now whilst your still at high school. Remember its not just the look of your teeth that you have to take into consideration. Remember ideally you want them to last you a life time, why not get them up to scrach and not have to worry about them later on. Getting rid of the overbite too will be a benefit in the long run.

Well, you can bite the bullet now and wear braces OR you can wait a couple years and look at getting porcelain veneers. I think the reason your ortho doesn't want to do bonding is because your teeth are still developing. Veneers are usually done for cosmetic reasons in older patients.

Anyhow, you should probably do the braces. Have you asked about ceramic braces? They might be a little more expensive but won't look as bionic in your mouth.

Do I want braces?

If you answer no, because of somebody or something else, ask yourself the same question again.

If you answer yes, because of somebody or something else, ask the same question again.

Keep asking yourself that until YOU have SAID something. Not what other people MIGHT want or need you to do.

In conclusion, begin at the age of 15, to start building your future and decisions off of what you DESIRE and WANT.

But I bet you are trying to figure out what would be in the best interest, for women. Like, if I get braces, would women find that attractive?

Son, if you HONESTLY, and I am putting my life on this, if you HONESTLY want to be attractive, CREATE YOUR OWN WORLD. Then go out and ADD IN, things like women, friends, cars, and clothes. Your SELF-WORTH and VALUE, is not in a woman liking you, but in you realizing and discovering your calling in life. Get them now. Trust everyone here. They may suck having them in HS but you'll be glad once you get to College.

I wish I did as I have a slight gap in my front teeth and don't want braces now... and plus I really don't have the money. Need to graduate and get a job so I can afford those new "invisible" alignment things.

I have braces and i´m 22 and i´m going to take them off in June after two years with them...you will suffer because of the pains but you will get used to it and it will pay off in the end... ...my new smile

Oh and i don´t believe girls like them because 2 weeks ago i´ve met a girl (i even posted it here) and she noticed i have braces and somehow lost interest...oh well it´s her loss
