For shoes I usually wear merrells or hiking boots. Are these considered good shoes to wear by females or not.

No. Are you an adventurer or something...

I just got some sick Pumas for $69, which are nice.

lol, no. I have a couple of pairs of sketchers, the casual leather ones. Ditch the hiking boots (unless your hiking that is).

Probably not unless you are actually hicking about in a nature reserve.

I wear sharp black leathers with my business suit (wear them in my college or when I'm out buying expensive goods), Converse/Sketches/tennis shoes when in my usual (smart) casual clothes [though I'm going to see how the Converse + blazer look goes], and real swanky black patent-leathers when I'm out partying (or in a tux).

As yu can imagine I get the most IOIs (in my opinion anyway) when I'm suited up or out in my patents.

I disagree - hiking boots show that you are not afraid of a bit of adventure, you are different and like bit of rough in the outdoors. All the boring AFCs suits wear normal 'sensible' shoes. Women don't want 'sensible' AFCs !!

I have been wearing hiking boots all the time for decades, even at the office in the city (nice brown leather shiny pair) and have more than enough women chasing after me, so I would if you want to wear hiking boots don't let the other posts put you off.

Wow...shoes...I have never thought about shoes until right now. I'm 26, maybe the Doc Martins could be retired. My cowboy boots are always a hit, but you'd better be the real deal to pull em off. H3ll women even complement my Red Wings, "he's a workin' man". I feel my best, though, in my fancy dress shoes.

As a man of many hats, so am I also a man of many shoes.

And that's why I wear patents when none else my age, ones that I know of at least, does. Always gets good (girls, my mates)/jealous (every other prick) remarks.

hmm, try going to a club or nice bar in my city. You won't even be let in with hiking boots, almost all the bars worth going to have dress codes.

I am sorry but hiking boots are not pimpin' unless you are a bull dyke, or Bear Gryls. Get yourself some fly puma's and some cool shoes...

Never try to read a woman's mind. It is a scary place. Ignore her confusing signals and mixed messages. Assume she is interested in you and act accordingly.

A lot of people forget that Timberland boots are...... HIKING BOOTS!
They are still the **** though. Since I've been 15 I've kept a pair in my line-up.
Love the roll-tops.

Kal0051, I'm sorry but your city is ****ed up if they won't let you in a club sporting a pair of timbs. Seriously, if the doorman told me I couldn't come in because I was rocking the roll-tops, I would announce to the whole line that the club was ****ing worthless. I wouldn't even want in a place that snooty.

For real: http://www.poppincollaz.com/timberland-men39s-rolltop--vent-tech-i.html

You've got to have shoes in the line up too though. I've got a pair of Adidas classics, a pair of Reebok classics, and a pair of And1's

there are some clubs that have no dress code but they are worthless, most clubs have a dress code that says no work/hiking boots, no extremely baggy pants (ie. they are half way down your ass), etc. If the bouncer sees you wearing these he'll just politely ask you to leave and change. I see it happen at least twice a night and no one complains.

Unbridled Phoenix, I agree with you about RedWings being good boots. I do not recall ever being complimented about mine though.

I do not like dress shoes very much because although I have very comfortable pair they always get messed up.

I think boots are best for several reasons: I walk a lot, I am on my feet most of the day. They are sporty. They are easy to clean. If you get into a fight they are excellent for smashing the breaky things on your opponents body. Variety most people do not wear them so they make you stand out. If it is raining your feet are warm and everyone else's are cold.

Just curious - What city do you live in? I know that in Chicago, Quad cities, St.Louis-East St.Louis & Metro-East, Kansas City, and Indianapolis most places could give a **** less if you are wearing boots or not as long as they are in good condition and not just some haggard ass **** kickers. Some clubs have rules about wearing bandannas or gang paraphernalia but besides that not much.

I'd imagine that has something to do with it...

I don't consider them good shoes to wear by females. Not sexy enough for me. IMHO

Cheers!

Really it all depends on where you live and where you're going/at. Personally, I've never seen a pair of merrells or hiking boots I like (I stock shoes for shoes.com so I see thousands of pairs a day :( ). Hell, I live in bum-f#ck kentucky and girls get wet over a redneck guy in slip-on boots driving a 4x4 truck. It all depends on the type of chick you're going for.

Look into some casual style sketchers for good styles. Although I haven't seen any new releases in sketchers that I like, I prefer the older styles. I'd recommend pumas (which look good) but the damn things are so narrow and I find them a bit effeminate looking.

Converse Chuck Taylors are a classic and go well with most casual outfits (and a few "dressy" ones), so look into them. Not only are the basic ones fairly cheap ($40) but ever since they got popular again you can find them in sooooo many designs it's pathetic.

Where do you live, what type of chicks do you prefer (preppy, rocker, classy, etc), and how do you dress? Also what do you like to do, if you're a big club guy I'd recommend different shoes than if you're a guy that tends to meet chicks at casual house parties.

I understand your reason for liking boots, but oftentimes what's fashionable/attractive is also the most uncomfortable. Personally I'd rather stand out in a stylish way than an "I'm an outdoors man and kill bears with my bare hands" type of way. By the way chicks compliment my slip-on redwings all the time, it's more a factor of where I live than anything though (they also love my realtree camo timberland hunting boots lol).

I don't know why these clubs care so much but it probably has something to do with the fact that they want to be seen as high class. Not every club is like that, there are still clubs that could give two ****s about what your wearing (as long as you don't look like a bum). But the clubs I usually go to has some sort of dress code (which is never posted I might add). But I'll still go to the nicer clubs because they're just better (better booze selection, better djs, nicer atmosphere, better looking girls).
