My girlfriend is completely obsessed with Fortune Tellers etc. She more or less believes everything that they tell her.

She went to one couple of days back and the Teller told her that she was going to be moving to Australia early next year, blah blah

Im starting to feel that it is getting on top of our relationship as she thinks that what the fortune teller tells her is the way its going to be.

I just would like her to come back down to earth and get a grip on reality. I really care for this girl, I love her, but the more this fortune telling nonsense continues the more Im thinking along the lines of it not working out.

SHe's starting to get selfish about it. She says if I dont want to "follow her dream" then I've to more or less hit the road.

How do I regain control of this situation and make her realise that she is messing dangerously with our future together and that if she continues this way then I will walk out

advice?

Oh boy,

this is strange. It could have been a Seinfeld episode.

If she's letting some Tarot card crap get in the way of whats really important - you - then haul out of there. Nuts like that are hard to change.

If you really like her and want to keep her then try and move her interest to more credible occult areas, like astrology or numerology, but definitely not fortune telling. You can try and develop an interest for one of these occult areas like astrology. It would give you a chance to do it together. I have developed quite an interest in astrology and do believe some of it. My personal opinion is that fortune tellers are full of ****, you can tell her that. If she takes that stuff too serious and she is not worth it then next her!

Why don't you explain to her that Astrology and Fortune Tellers are BULLSh1it. Tell her about Cold Reading, and point her to Ian Rownland's website:

http://www.ianrowland.com/ItemsToBuy/ColdReading/ColdReadingWhatIs.html

Then perhaps tell her to do a little more research on the subject. She will find out for herself that all this is just carnival knowledge and a keen knowledge of psychology and more importantly psychological mind tricks.

Get her head straight. She may feel like a sucker for believing it, but you gotta expain to her its all magic and once she knows how its done (by doing some research) she will know the teller was just telling her what they thought she wanted to hear based on his cold reading of her.

But of course knowing this fact - that cold reading lets people giveother people what they want - it sounds like she WANTED to hear she is leaving and what not and hearing it from someone else is making it sound like an inevitable prophecy thus she can use it as an excuse "eh I didnt want to go, but it was predicted I'd end up going anyway, why fight it!"

more credible occult areas, like astrology or numerology
Nope, all bullsh1t, and all cold reading!

I have developed quite an interest in astrology and do believe some of it.
You should read Ian Rowland's book too! I also have a PDF book I have been sending to people on this board about cold reading, its not as good but gives you an overview, I can send that to you if you like.

I went out with a chick like this once.
I bought a chunk of Amber from some weird ass shop and they give me a purple silk 'bag of power' to put it in.
I showed it to her and she said it was intended for "Guidance and decision making."
Then said I must have felt lost and if there was anyhting she could do and...well...she didn't really listen to a damn word I said...she just screwed my brains out. So I didn't mind.
Then I gave the chunk of amber to the next girl I met and she though it was the sweetest thing and...well...you can guess.

Amber rocks :D

Yes, which is why I have made learning how to do psychic readings via Cold Reading a priority :D Doesn't seem such a dumb or lame plan as you all said when I first talked about it a few weeks ago now that you have some evidence that girls eat that crap up with a spoon and beg for seconds!

Who is the prize here? What about your dreams? What if the fortune teller tells her something that conflicts with your dreams? Next time, you better be ready to reframe when she sh*t tests you.

I used to know a guy like that who was a scammer and tricked women into believing he had psychic powers. He knew all that schit, feng shui, astrology, yoga etc.. He was teaching classes on that crap, I doubt he believed any of it, one thing I know he was getting a lot of puzzy out of this.

In other words, she's fvcking dumb with no will of her own.

She went to one couple of days back and the Teller told her that she was going to be moving to Australia early next year
If I were you, I'd kick her ass out there.

I just would like her to come back down to earth and get a grip on reality.
That's her job, not yours.

I really care for this girl, I love her, but the more this fortune telling nonsense continues the more Im thinking along the lines of it not working out.
She's showed you how stupid and gullible she is. I don't blame you.

SHe's starting to get selfish about it. She says if I dont want to "follow her dream" then I've to more or less hit the road.
Gotta wonder if the fortune teller told her that. Let her follow her bull5hit while you get on with your normal life. GET RID OF HER.

How do I regain control of this situation and make her realise that she is messing dangerously with our future together and that if she continues this way then I will walk out
Quit talking about it and kick her out of your life. I'll bet the fortune teller doesn't see that one coming!

Yep! It is very easy once you know what you are doing. And I've always thought that being into paranormal stuff like psychic readings could be beneficial if you know how to do it.

But of course you gotta really study and know your stuff and be good at it.

All of the things you mentioned from Feng Shui to astrology, even yoga are b.s. (in fact there is no scientific proof that stretching for 90 seconds is more beneficial than 30 seconds, 30 seconds seems to be where stretching reaches its peak).

But yeah, if you are good at it and can pull off an act, I think it can take you places. There is plenty of females who believe that stuff. According to my Cold Reading book 80% of clients to these kinds of things are women.

This might be seen as a wee bit off-topic, but I thought I'd share it with you lot anyways.

A mate of mine knows how to read Tarot cards.. but this time I didn't even need his help in explaining the cards...

I asked the deck, "When will I meet the one" (yes, this was before I came to this site and learned better...).

First card, was a picture of Hell and the devil.

The second card, was a pic of alot of ice and snow...

Essentially, the cards replied; when hell freezes over.

In a way, that was right, since there are no ONE, but plenty of 'em, you just have to get off your fat arse and do something about it.

This happened to me once.

A tarot reader at a restaurant told some girl I was dating that she was going to get her hair cut shoulder length and she was going to break up with her boyfriend.

Guess what?

She got her hair cut and started cheating on me with some other dude... figured it wasn't really cheating since it was fate that we were going to break up anyhow.

not to say any of it is or is not true...

if god gave you a gift, to have visions or such, then it is a gift to be used for good and not to make money.

tell this to your girlfriend. she should not have to pay these people to tell her anything.

***
with that being said, there are people out there who can read tarrot cards and runes and even tea leaves, and palms and even read ass cheecks and know what they are doing.
others have preminisions, waking dreams, and intense dreams about things with senses or urgency.
there are mass numbers of people that have stated they have left their bodies during their sleep called projectile astro something.
who are we to say they cant?

fortune telling on 1800 numbers is only a money making scheme ... so is the fair and every place that advertises palm reading. any one you have to pay, is a liar! they give false hope to people and say things that can litterly be taken to any person that sits in the chair.

Im not sure if people are just ignoring my posts or not, but there is no such thing as a real psychic, its all cold reading.

Once again THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PSYCHIC, EVERYTHING THEY DO CAN BE EXPLAINED WITH CARNIVAL KNOWLEDGE SUCH AS COLD READING. There we go everyone shouldve seen that message.
