I actually don't think you should take it too hard. It's pretty understandable, imo. If I were going off to some exotic place for a while I probably wouldn't want to be tied down either.

That said, you should do like these guys said and forget about her. Date other girls if you find the opportunity.

I'm not real sure about the dumping her altogether thing before she leaves, tho. It's something to consider, but like I said, her feelings are pretty understandable. It's conceivable you might want to hook back up with her again in the future.

Of course, you could probably dump her and still hook back up with her later if you wanted, so I don't really know...

Have you had trust issues with her before? Has she ever shown signs of being unfaithful? If you've said yes to all of these, then it's sure is swell of her to propose that idea.

Other than that it makes absolutely no sense. She wants to act outside of monogomy for her sake and put the problem on your lap. Like it's YOUR problem that she might cheat on you because she's studying abroad and might fvck someone else. If she said "I think we should break because I don't think I'll be faithful." I'd respect her more if she said that.
