LIT has some great insight into this situation, but if I may throw another possibility out there...

I dated this chick a while back. She was a pretty decent chick, had a nice body, fun, friendly, etc etc. However, she could cry "for no reason". She was almost always bawling. She'd call me on the phone and be bawling her eyes out and I'd ask, "What's wrong?" She'd say "Nothing, I'm just crying".

She let me in on what her "problem" was. She had been diagnosed with a chemical imbalance, and was on these wacky drugs. It was so fvcked up. She'd be all bouncy and happy, but when she took her "bedtime" pill, within two minutes she was mellow. Absolutely blew my mind. She normally would end up bawling for no reason when she didn't take her pills for a day or two.
