I kind of don't know what to do about this. I don't have a lot of chest hair but it does not look good on me regardless. I just can't pull it off. I was thinking about shaving it but then it just grows back thicker and it's something I don't want to be shaving everyday just like my face. I'll be on at the pool with this girl who is 14 and not to sure she is used to seeing guys with hairy chest that's why I'm opting on shaving it, otherwise i'd just rather leave it alone.

Do yall shave your chest? Do girls like shaved over hairy?

Actually this is a very common myth. Shaving your chest hair (or shaving any hair for that matter) has absolutely nothing to do with the thickness or amount that it will grow back. That is all left up to your genes.

And it depends on what girls like. Just because they say one thing though doesnt mean that is how they actually feel. Some guys I know pull off the stubble beard and hairy chest pretty well, and the girls all love it. Other guys dont pull it off as well, and those same girls hate it.

to be fair you have a good point...

Boxer, tell me this, how do YOU feel about your chest hair, forget the girl, just think about yourself here.

If it is really THAT uncomfortable then fairs shave it, however if you are shaving it for a girl it does seem kinda low

So following your line of thought...when I wear clothes that look good on me and put deodorant on im "pvssyfying" myself for women? Or when I work out to become more attractive and shave my face im really just being an AFC?

If a girl wants you to do something as simple as shave your chest then why not? As long as its a give and receive relationship your not being an AFC.

To the OP, some girls like hairy chest and some dont. Someone as young as her probably prefers shaven though.

*girls who have fathers with hairy chests are more likely to be attracted to a man with a hairy chest.

We have a 2.5 year age difference. It's really not that bad so don't try to persuade me to find a girl the same exact age as me.

I've decided to keep the hair on my chest. Personally I would rather have it hairless but I just was thinking about how I can barley get a smooth close shave on my face so there will be no way I will get a perfect smooth shave on my chest for my first attempt. What will probably happen is I will end up with just stubble, and get the red rash and bumbs from razor burn. I would assume that chest hair is more attractive then visible razor burn and stubble.

Oh that's not too bad, in my experience at those ages girls tend to be more mature and boys less so.

If you do wanna get rid of it then wax it. Shaving does horrible things to my skin, so I always wax and never have any problems. Also, right after waxing use an anti-septic cream (like Savlon, I swear by it here) because it moisturises the fresh skin right away and because it's antiseptic it doesn't matter so much about clogging the open pores.

So once you have your chest hair, you've been waiting all your puberty, you want it off?

First...it is metrosexual thing to do. Not cool but whatever.

Second...Some girls go on power trips trying to make their bfs to do stuff like that....ultimate shyt tests. Basically making you her slave.
I'm not saying it is in 100% of cases but it smells, dude.

Third..Some girls might actually prefer no chest hair but I assure you if she is really interested in you she will chew on your hairy chest.

You are the man, you have to shave your face and that's all time you can waste on grooming.

Not cool dude. Not cool.

btw when you shave it it WILL grow back more. Because when you shave it, the nutritions needed for the hairs will be put to work on growing the new one, instead of slightly nurturing the old long one. So it will become thicker and maybe even denser.

I did it once, was pretty meh.
Stubble on your chest = ridiculous. Especially if you have dark hair. Either you have the hair, or you have nothing at all. If people can see that you shaved your chest, they'll think you're an idiot. I would. Run around with shaved chest and hairy arms? :D

Also, if you're not ripped, you'll look like a 10yr old boy. At least I did when I tried ;)

Summary: nothing wrong with (medium) chest hair, as long as the chest itself is good!

Just trim it! I don't like my chest hair that much - then again I don't really like body hair when it's over a certain point in general - especially because of my Persian heritage which looks really bad haha. So I just trim it down and it looks way better. That way I don't have to go through the hassle of shaving it regularly, a process which is much more involved BTW, and don't have to deal with ingrown hairs or irritation (and when you shave your chest you will get a lot of irritation because your shirt is constantly rubbing on it).

Try trimming first before taking the plunge, I'm willing to bet you'll be satisfied with that. Buy one of those body groomer things. I think I have this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Philips-Norel...ef=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1276234953&sr=8-2

You are the man, you have to shave your face and that's all time you can waste on grooming.
I hate this conception of 'manliness'.

I actually think that the exact opposite is true; a real man takes pride in his appearance and will do whatever he sees fit to satisfy his own expectations of looking good. I have absolutely no problem with someone removing hair, washing themselves, getting a manicure, etc... because all of that is about making yourself appear respectable and as long as you're doing it to satisfy your own expectations then that is all that matters.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Shaving and waxing have the same end result, no? after shaving, it starts becoming irritated right away, that's the only reason I'd do waxing over shaving in the future. and no, i won't go to a nail salon or a tanning booth. I'm brown enough thankyouverymuch.
