This post could not have come to me at a more opportune time...
I have to give my deepest gratitue to Fingz... seriously and very sincerely.
For the past few years ive been looking for something to call myself... Daoist, Buddhist, Existentialist, Objectivist etc. it didnt matter. I was looking for a title. I wanted one path to follow and a clear set of values to carry me through life. A creed to end all creeds.
What ive found is that it DOES. NOT. EXIST.
If one only limits himself to One world view, you get locked out of a lot of other ways to see things. I suppose i was lucky enough not to Just "sign up" for a paradigm without thinking for myself and disagreeing with some points in those paradigms (which is what i realized i was trying to do), accepting it all as truth simply to introduce myself as an Objectivist or what have you.
You really have to take what you agree with from each individual system and piece together your own "system". It may not have a term attached to it or a 5 meg Wikipedia entry, but it is a set of values that YOU have constructed and they work for you. They provide you the self fulfillment and tenacity for life that a cold hollow title could never carry.
Its very important to think for yourself and take everything with a grain of salt until you have decided its a point of view that truly resonates with how you feel and what brings you happiness.
Knowing this has really given me an edge in entering the world of seduction. I can try and observe detached and dispassionately the techniques contained in all of the "manuals" and "rules" without letting myself get wrapped up in weather or not they are 'true'. You cant let yourself get trapped under a set of rules and expect to succeed. No system (of any kind) is perfect.
Im also a Musician and poet, so the creativity mentioned here also strikes quite the chord. With Practicing (Guitar) ill repeat what i said above;
You must observe your actions and methods dispassionately and detached; Like a scientist doing an experiment
If i practice with expectation and emotion i will fail, but when i free myself from any expectation and want nothing but to Observe what is working and what isnt, it allows me to construct effective practice regimens around what i KNOW, not what someone else is telling me will work.
Just my .02 Im glad i read this before i jumped right in though. Invaluable advice.
