Wait, so you got a five car garage? Holy ****. Turn one (or two) of those garages into a room or something.

Coincidentally, my parents are looking for a house. If you were, oh I don't know, 1200 miles closer, and 3 car garages less, I'd have send them to you.

Good luck though.
The 2 car garage is ideal for someone to set up as an office or a separate bachelor sanctuary. I don't want to do too much to it in case someone wants to use it for a trade or storage.

I'll give your parents a good price if they want to relocate.

Cheers!

Good point. My new neighbor just moved in about 8 months ago and I will ask him what he paid for his home which is equivalent to mine without the extra garage. Hopefully, he'll tell me.

I'm thinking of getting a professional appraiser to tell me what it is worth and I'll price it slightly under the appraisal price and use it as a tool if a buyer is not sure. Cheers!
This is the information age and you should be able to find out what the comps are going for by searching your province online public real estate records.

Also, Lovely Lady was spot on about not using Pine Sol and going for a linen scent. Get a inexpensive potpourri pot and a bottle of linen potpourri oil and you'll be all set. It shouldn't cost more than $15 for the set.

I retired at 47 and now spend a lot of time in Europe and need to simplify my life and hopefully cash out.
You are my new hero Romangod.

I hope, when I reach 47, I'm in your exact same position...retired and traveling the world.

Thanks, Mr. Positive! It's amazing what a looming recession, staying single and a bit naive and smart with one's money can do for you. My company offered me a full pension and benefits with a nice buy-out and said "live a little". I plan on doing that. Cheers!

Want to retire? Do it in mexico.

Cost of life is about 500 dollars per month. You can get a clean 2 bedroom apartment here in a nice part of town for about 250 dollars per month... 300 with electricity and water. 200 will do you for food per month if you eat at home and meds are really cheap here, for example a visit to the doctor is about 10 dollars and the most expensive medication I've seen is 8 bucks.

I retired last year :)

Cheers, fuzzx! While my parents are still alive I will make Canada my home base. I also own a home in Eastern Europe in my father's village which I plan on spending a lot more time at in the future. The COL there is also amazing along with some of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. Also, my cousin's son is a doctor who'll take care of my medical needs. Life is good!

Update...................... I've been holding off getting started on my project until May 1. Then the work begins in ernest to prepare my house for sale.

First step is to get rid of all the clutter and get rid of a lot of "stuff" I have no use for. I've got too much stuff! I'm going to have a yard sale when the weather is better and hopefully get rid of a lot things while raising a little cash for my project. What I don't sell I'll donate to charity and my church.

Does anyone have any tips on yard sales? Pricing, advertising and set up?

Cheers!
