hmm
have you considered kajukenbo? Its a modern martial art with traditional roots. Ive been studying it for 3 years. The whole point of the martial art is to win a fight by any means possible.
-We learn grappling, kickboxing, anatomy, and more street techniques- The stuff that people who havent been in a real fight would consider "dirty" like, properly gouging eyes out, strikes to the throat, breaking of the nose, how to pull hair to the full effectiveness (if the situation calls for it) We are also taught to carry knives and how to use certain "legal" weapons. This aspect of the class is more like a science and a fitness regimen than an art, its very freestyle-ish, you learn how to use everything that is available to you during a fight, to think on ur feet. Anything it takes to defeat your agressor.
-On the other hand, we have great respect for our traditional roots as well. That is why we also do kata and traditional rituals like Salutes, meditation and philosophy. This aspect of the class focuses on the spiritual and emotional part of the art. It stresses correct form and memorization of angles of attack and the main principles of self defense.
Well, i like it, there hasnt been a fight that i couldnt get out of.
It isnt about beating ur opponent to a pulp, its about beating him until he is no longer a threat to you, we also do a bit of law study in our class.
If ur wondering kajukenbo stands for KA-karate JU-Bjj, judo and jujitsu KEN-kenpo BO-Chinese boxing (kung fu) and western boxing
