What do you all do for self-improvement? I've been trying to read as much as possible, literature, philosophy and self-improvement. But mainly I have been trying to get in shape.

In total I have lost 3 inches from my waist. Most of that in the last 7 weeks. I was doing things on my own for about a month, then found a 12 week transformation guide. Focused on bodybuilding and light cardio. After 3 weeks I joined an MMA gym. And have been going 5 or 6 days a week, multiple times a day if I am able to recover.

I have also been learning a lot about nutrition. I eat around 6 times a day, good protein every meal and only brown rice, whole wheat pasta and whole foods.

Here's the workout we did a week ago on Friday.

For an hour straight we traded off with a partner doing burpees and then carrying a 100 lb heavy bag around the gym. Up and down three sets of stairs and two long lengths of the gym. When we were finished - thought we were finished - our trainer got us to do 100 knee tucks and sprawls. Two guys puked, but most of us finished and continued to work on technique and ground n pound. After completing that workout I felt as though I had accomplished more than I had in a long time.

Eating 6 times a day is a pain in the a$$ & this guys ideas makes it redundant, with before and after photos of himself and clients to back it all up.

Exercise is important, as is reading, educating yourself, and practicing your skills.

But probably my main component of self improvement is simply motivating myself to do the things that I know I should be doing, in all phases of life.
