Interesting post, most of those considered "man of value" nowadays are simply guys who played by the rules, that obeyed the system and which have been rewared from the system for that.d!ckmojo said:No... all I'm saying is that "Alpha" can be contextual.
In the context of the way society is currently set up (or *WAS setup, I should say, because ever since '08 its been rapidly unraveling) a rich finance-type dude is top of the pack.
But imagine if society fell apart. Its not such a remote possibility. It already started happening in London last summer for a few weeks back there for a while.
Well, who's Alpha then? The employed guy who sucked up to his boss and played by society's rules to get where he was? He played by society's rules and was rewarded by society, but then society changed.
Do you think that pugnacious boxer guy/rat assassin might have a survival advantage in different circumstances?
The society we grew up in was feminist dominated, and designed to keep the vast majority of us guys beta-fied and under control. You were forced to go to school, everyone was, it was just the done thing, not to teach you how to think properly, or to try and awaken your inner genius... It was to teach you how to be a good, obedient EMPLOYEE.
Well, this society has become unstable, and is crumbling around us. Look in Greece, look in Spain, its happening as we speak.
Pretty soon, all the rich finance guys won't be considered Alpha anymore. In fact, THEY'LL be the unemployed ones. Like that guy Kenny in that movie 'Horrible Bosses' who wants to give the three heroes handjobs in the toilet for a hundy bucks.
The true Alphas in the new society will be the manly risk-takers like this friend of TonyBaloney's, who risked going into debt to buy an asset that could allow him to start a business of his own and employ himself.
In my opinion, starting a business by yourself from scratch, with nothing to start with at all, risking going into debt and everything, is FAAAR more alpha than the finance banker type who was a good little boy at school and did his homework and got praised by the woman who was his teacher, and then went to university like a clean cut good young man and got a good GPA at university, and then got into a Grad program at a bank and learned how to fit into the corporate culture and not stand out and how to be a good little worker drone.
That was what society wanted us ALL to do, to be good obedient little worker boy employee drones. But that society is falling apart now, and the people who will truly prosper are the ones that have the uniqueness and the drive to break the mould and be a risk-taking individual.
And for that, I salute an Alpha when I read about one.
Just think about all this women doing office job and playing the independant ones, they are worth jack and sh1t, they are there just because the system wants them there and needs them there, they are totally dependant on a fabricated economy and society.
In a renewed society all this people that brag about being successful would be and the bottom being them unable to produce anything relevant, they have nothing beside blind obedience to rules and.
Tell me how a "feminine studies professor" have use outside this artificial society or a "human resources manager", yet they are getting good money now and have a highter position than an electrician or a mechanic.
What is real alpha and would be an alpha in a renewed society is that man who created something by himself, make it a company or an indutry that actually is worth something, produce something and has a utility no matter the environment.
And about that guy, well he sucks but at the same time we can say that his condition is due to his failure to conform to a certain environment, his failure is not being unworth but being unable to conform.
He however has a personal value much more highter than other men who are placed good in this society, he managed from a losing position (according to modern standard) to achieve what other men in high position fail to do.
Also what Robert said its true, when some men simply are unwilling or fail to conform, the system punish them by depriving them of basic needs like female companionships, they however find a bug in the system that allow them to get it.
So they keep themselves outside of the society and the rules but at the same time manage to achieve what they want with non conformist means.
Its the same of most criminals, they fail to succeed legally yet rejecting the norms find a way to achieve what they want.
