Re: The problem with the death penalty

The problem with the death penalty is not the guilty ones, but the innocent ones. Half of death row in Illinois got emptied when the guys were proven innocent by DNA evidence. Those convictions weren't justice, but attempted murder.

A female friend of mine was the prime suspect in a murder that occured in her apartment, with no forced entry. It looked like a "slam dunk" conviction until it came to light that sperm was found in the body of the victim. So much for a female perpetrator. That just proved to what lengths the police and prosecutors will go to close a case.
Seems like alot of Prosecutors are bastards...they really do not care about the victim and so on, they just want a W in their win column so they can become a judge someday.

The issue here is not whether the state should execute Scott P.

Rather it is what HE should WANT to get.

I still think, from his perspective, death is better, and quickly.

Every day in prison is torture for him, and why should HE want to suffer.

Whether we want him to suffer is a different issue.

Well, Due to the all the media attention this has caused and the fact that Scott technically murdered an infant...he will be in protective custody.

From what I hear...Child molesters and or any crime against a child, you are a marked man in prison. To tell you the truth, I would rather be in protective custody if I were in jail. IMHO, The worse part about jail is the people you are in there with.

I've read it costs even more to keep a prisoner on death row than life in jail.

Thumbs-down to so much tax-money being spent on those animals.
