Own up to it, man. Women do actually dig honesty when it comes to your hairline...MUCH more than hiding it, masking it, and generally conveying that you're uncomfortable with who and what you are.

BTW I've got thinning hair and a receding hairline up top. I'm also 23.

You know how you can ALWAYS tell when someone is doing something to try to cover up a receeding hairline? (wearing a hat, a wig, has had plugs, combover etc etc...)... Well, you're not special. EVERYONE is able to tell when someone is trying to cover up their baldness :)

Just go with it. Cut your hair short. If a not-ideal physical trait doesn't bother you, it almost certainly won't bother anyone else.... Unless that physical trait happens to be an appaling odor, or tentacles or something.

K so when I was younger I was balding.. BADLY. Like in grade 9 people were commenting on it. I used to wear a hat and **** like that. Ok now if you realize its just in your own head then you will be ok I would GUESS. Personally I did a cancer fundraiser and shaved my head. SO MANY girls told me it looked great so I decided to keep it and I haven't worried about it once since then. There is ofcourse the initial you getting checked out less because women seem to check bald guys out less. But then its also way easier to pick up because your confidence goes up. Also it could have been that since I was not used to being bald completyely that I was getting checked out less. Maybe something about the way I carried myself at the time. But I get checked out lots now that I am used to it so don't worry about that. ANYWAYS you should really try cutting your hair off its actually awesome and it completely kills that whole insecurity you have. Trust me I know how that sucks man. Shave that ****. Either way if you do shave it its supposed to come back in thicker anyways but personally I am not going to grow mine back anyways because I love my hair likle this.

Wrong.

I cover mine with a hairpiece (of the same quality worn by Ben Affleck and other people in the entertainment industry) and the only people who know I wear are the ones who have been told.

Shave it or do something about it.

I shaved mine for years and it's a hell of a lot better than doing the horseshoe thing.

If it isn't too far along you can also use concealers such as Dermmatch. They can be VERY effective, but there is some hassle involved.

Hairpieces ARE an option for people who have enough confidence to pull it off, but only buy from toplace.com or coolpiece.com. If you go this route try the super fine swiss lace. Properly applied it is nearly impossible to detect by sight OR touch. Works for me :)

Oh yea, and I would never get transplants. Good idea in theory, but what if you lose more hair than you expect? It can happen and the results aren't pretty.

Unless you are a teenager, don't try to pull of the baseball hat ,or any kind of hat, in your everyday life. Only sometimes.

I have alot of hair, and when I wear a hat people that don't know me automatically asume that I am hiding something, that I am balding, etc.

People that know me, when I wear a hat, think I either shaved my head, got a bad hair cut, or trying to hide something.

Ask her if she's a nurse. If she replies with either "yes" or "why?" simply tell her that a snake bit you on the penis and you need a nurse to suck out the poison.

If that doesn't work buy her a pair of shoes. That always works.

If you've found something that actually looks natural, then good for you. It is entirely possible that people are too polite to say anything, though.

A former employer wore a hairpiece. One day he confided in me that he was actually balding, and wore a wig. I feigned surprise ("Gee, REALLY? It looks so natural!"). Employees had been calling him Mr. Rug (his surname rhymed with rug) behind his back for years. He'd convince himself that it looked natural, because no one had ever pointed out to him how obvious it was he was wearing a wig (because to do so would be rude!).

If/when my hair starts falling out, I'm going with the Bruce Willis. No one ever laughs at Bruce Willis for being bald. Bruce Willis is awesome. However, Bruce Willis with a hairpiece would be tragic.

Actually, part of me is looking forward to male pattern baldness - Think of the money I'll save on hairstylists, and how easy it will be to keep my head at a comfortable temperature (my head is naturally hot all year round - hair makes it worse)! Also, it'll significantly add to my Bruce Willisness.

I would say to just let it be natural, but do it well. I have the vertex form of baldness, so it is only noticeable when looking from above.

As for shaving it off, I would proceed with caution. Some men are able to pull it off very well, but it doesn't look right with other men.

The key to dealing with baldness is to give off the healthy, virile cue with the rest of the body (i.e., weight training.) Baldness in a muscular man is virtually not a hindrance at all.

Bah! Baldness. I ****ing hate it.

I used to have hair literally down to my ass. Everyone treated me like I was a unicorn or some ****. "You have the most awesome hair!". People worshipped it. Girls envied it. Then at 22, I started thinning. Damn. I just kinda ignored it for a while, but by 24 people started saying, "You're going bald.". Another year of denial later, and I finally cut it all off. Chop chop.

Usually I just keep it shaved completely. I think I look better that way. However, when I get lazy and don't shave it (or my face for that matter) for a month or two, is when girls seem most attracted to me. I think everytime I've just randomly hooked up with some chick has been during these phases. I don't know if it's that I look less threatening, or just that I look like I don't care, that does it.

There is a limit. If I go too long that way, people I know tell be that I'm starting to look too old.

I wish more hair would fall out though. I'm 29 now, and my hair hasn't thinned one bit since I first cut it off. Makes me think maybe I just damaged it heavily when it was long. Plus, it would rock the world if I could pull off a proper skullet, like Devin Townsend.

You don't have to wait for male pattern baldness. Why don't you do things on your own terms and go Bruce Willis now, you would save all that money and enjoy all the advantages.

Let's ask George Carlin what he thinks:

"Here are some more men who oughta be strapped to a gurney and castrated with fishing knives - white guys who shave their head completely bald. Ya know? They're so ashamed they lost 11 hairs, they're gonna try to turn it into some sort of masculine statement. I say 'Hey ya goofy looking, baldy headed fvck, looks good on black guys. On you, it ugly, repulsive and disgusting. You wanna be bald? Do what I did - wait awhile!' In the meantime, there's no excuse for running around looking like a freshly circumsized d!ck"

While having it buzzed really short is different and can look good on a lot of guys, he is right.....a shaved head looks terrible on most white guys. Although sometimes it is preferable to having a gigantic bald spot or really really thin hair.

Then again, George Carlin does make some retarded points sometimes.

The only thing worse than a white guy shaving his head, and not looking good on him, is a white guy, or any guy, who is bald, yet has long hair. You know, the whole pony tail thing, just like George Carlin. So ironic that he should comment on that.

Another comedian should include bald guy with long hair jokes on his stand up routine, and a lot of people will agree.
