Sarging for friends

So you move to a new place, and don't know anybody. How do you suggest to get more buddies to hang out with? I can rather easilly initiate conversations, but how to go from there (Without coming off as a gay dude) ?

Ya that sounded real gay...Find some hobbies that involve people congregating. Find friends at work. You sound like you want to go hit on some dude at a bar to be your friend...

Friends usually start because of a common interest. So find something you like to do and then go somewhere where a lot of people are doing it.

I am from a little town called Ayr and I just moved to the city (Glasgow) a couple of months ago to meet new friends and more importantly chicks! I found the best way to meet people is just find a club you like and go out and have a good time. Talk to everyone! Treat everyone as your friend! They will usually reciprocate, and if you go regularly you'll see them again.

yeah, i move all the time. And somehow friends...just...happen. THey make themselves. I just was always around them because of sports and what not, so you kind of jsut start hanging out more. It really shouldn't be that hard

Sports would be a great start, great way of meeting new people.

Even if its just things like tenpin etc.. then see if anyone wants to go out and get some beers, hit on chicks etc..
