That and highlighting just how worthless the Democratic ticket is. Biden...what a joke. You guys are just giving the election away.speakeasy said:but that's about all she's good for.
Now that you've listened to her? What has she said other than attacks, empty rhetoric and platitudes. She gave 1 speech, that someone else wrote for her. I mean, my god, the woman won't even answer questions from the press, too scared to speak unless it's read off a teleprompter. If this is the best the republicans can do, it shows how shallow that party has really become. Wave a bible in the air and the republican base will fall in line like mice following the pied piper. The typical "hockey mom" that will be dazzled by her probably couldn't point out Iraq on a map yet alone name 3 policy positions that Palin actually holds, like being opposed to abortion even in the case of rape. If most women knew that, they probably wouldn't be so impressed. But hey, she was a beauty queen, and hunts, and talks tough in shoot-from-the-hip small town manner(remind of you a certain someone?) therefore she must be a world class politician right?ketostix said:At first I didn't particularly like the idea of a woman VP, but now that I've listen to Palin I think it's great.
If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.

Damn right. It's been a popularity contest.ready123 said:I'm waiting for the debates before deciding who to vote for
both sides are all rhetoric, very little policy. just two camps reacting to each other over and over

Unfortunately he's a do nothing on illegal immigration, but McCain is actually worse on the topic of illegal immigration. He was seething angry when the immigration reform bill failed. Did you see the look on his face?Truman181 said:Obama wants to give drivers licences to Illegal immigrants. Wake up people
Too bad all the "speaking" she's done was written for her by someone else. You could've put Meg Ryan or some other actress in front of that teleprompter reading lines and had just the same result. Palin is an empty skirt and a pretty face more suited to running a PTA than leader of the free world.toddlips said:Palin is an excellent speaker, and this of course is most evident when you first see her speak and then watch McCain, the robot in a suit, speak.
Maybe because if you look past the bipartisan standard, McCain is a different kind of Republican?speakeasy said:When I talk to people in the rest of the world, they can't understand why McCain is running neck and neck still. They're like "how on earth can so many Americans be this dumb to go with the same party as screwed up as the republicans have left you in". My answer is, "because the other guy is black. That's why."
Those are campaigning/PR abilities, not leadership abilities. His leadership abilities have yet to be tested.speakeasy said:Obama wrote his own speech for his nomination with a pencil and paper. That's a sad way to pull the race card....if you have a different opinion than obama, it's because he's black.speakeasy said:They're like "how on earth can so many Americans be this dumb to go with the same party as screwed up as the republicans have left you in". There are plenty of reasons that I'm going to vote Republican; Obama's skin color is not one of them.speakeasy said:They're like "how on earth can so many Americans be this dumb to go with the same party as screwed up as the republicans have left you in". No doubt Obama's a political person and a smooth politician. I saw his biography and it's clear he's been trying to advance up the political ladder since college. That's just why I don't trust him and no one knows what is real agenda is and he's not revealing it.speakeasy said:Obama wrote his own speech for his nomination with a pencil and paper. See, this just strengthens the argument in favor of Palin/McCain. I'd never vote the way other countries want me to or believe they have America's best interest at heart and not their own. It has nothing to do with him being black. Just like I didn't think I'd ever be OK with a woman VP, people look at the person's overall stances on issues. When I talk to people in the rest of the world, they can't understand why McCain is running neck and neck still. Tell me about it. So if Obama or a woman becomes President will no one be able to criticise their policies? That's a sad way to pull the race card....if you have a different opinion than obama, it's because he's black.
