Running to lose weight?!?!

I've been trying (not really) to lose weight for quite awhile...Anyways...

If I run for lets say 5 days a week, at 30 minutes a day, will I be able to lose weight (assuming I'm following the CUTTING UP guide's instructions on nutrition and whatnot)?

Thanks for actual HELPFUL advice in advance.

yes. make sure you're lifting too, if not you'll end up nice and flabby.

By "lifting" you mean lifting weights?

WTF...wat exactly do u mean by "nice and flabby". if its wat i think u mean then...i dont know how you got the name you've got for yourself on this forum.

The two top posts tell you everything you need to know...for instance:

what I am trying to get at is that even though you lost a lot of weight - a ton of the weight lost was muscle not fat - so while the scale says you weigh 180 you still look flabby.

The phenomenon known as "skinny fat" - which is why traditional diets are crap.

Notice how they never show that dork Jared with his shirt off in those Subway commercials.
