Retaining Muscle Mass Question

I spent the last 36 hours in hospital with a dodgy appendix. First they thought kidney, then appendix, then a random stomache problem. Either way, it's hard enough to sit for long peroids of time, let alone get up and jog/lift weight.

Over a 2 week peroid, eating less than usual [abdominal pain causing vomiting on occasion] what would you experienced guys say a:

5'9
174lbs
ROUGHLY 12% bodyfat

guy would lose (muscle wise)?

This. ****ing. Sucks. :mad:

no worries benny. You've gotten your body there, you're intense, and you're training hardcore.

You'll be sick for a bit, I predict if you use the same weights, your reps might go down by 2 or 3.... however, after your sickness, hit the weights hard and eat hard, and you'll start packing on muscle.

Your body will realize it's recovering from weakness, and will be in a prime position to jumpstart itself.

Hope so. Aparently I should be expecting to eat twice a day, and maybe throw one of them up. Not at all good for feeding my body ;\

Ah well. Either way, I now have some meds that'll make me throw anyway. AWESOME! :rolleyes:

You guys will just have to put an extra 10% in for me ;)

My appendix outright exploded a few years back, I now have a nice 2" scar on my abdomin. I've heard that because of such surgery there is no way I could EVER have a 6-pack now, anyone know if that's true?

I doubt that.

Give it a go. If not, you'll just look ripped. Either way, it's a win win situation.

That sucks man... and thats pretty dangerous to have it explode. What were you doing and how did it feel when it happened?

I hear it's usually taken out by keyhole these days, unless it's pretty ugly in there.
