Smoking is the most important cause of lung cancer in the United States. It is estimated that 90 percent lung cancer cases are caused by smoking. Other causes include radon, asbestos and air pollution.

Even if you smoke, you probably won't get lung cancer. And if you don't, you even more probably will not. Do you work in a coal mine? Does your office have asbestos?

Red meat doesn't cause cancer any more than living in a city does.
