Recommended Books for DJs?

Any good books fo DJs? I searched but couldn't find a thread. I have "How to win friends/influence people" and "Radical Honesty". I'm also considering "Silent Power". Anything else that is good?

"Dianetics" Ron L Hubbard (If you can get it. Just don't convert, lol.)

"Words that Win." Don Gabor

"The Game" Neil Strauss

"The Sound of your Voice" Carol Flemming

"The Psychology of Success." Brian Tracey

Those are the books I have, and each has a little good info for any DJ.

Psychocybernetics is the best book if you're trying to change yourself

Dr. Wayne Dyer is my favorite author

Magick without tears and Liber Al el Vegis (The book of the Law) by Aleister Crowley

Don't let the dramatics of his writing style defer from the knowledge written between the words. AC was the greatest thinker of the 20th century.

The reason I recommend both of these books, as opposed from others in his catalogue, is the dimensional characteristics of self mastery he tries to convey. He wanted people to think outside of themselves and make your life your own.

A few years ago I bought "How to Be Funny: Discovering the Comic You" by Steve Allen. It contains some good info, but it could be better. It has helped me, but I would definetly like to read more on the subject.

I have "Think and Grow Rich" (higly recommended, btw) and want to know more about "Comedy Writing Secrets", but why Dianetics? Just curious. Do you use it to hit on $cientologits or something?

Don't read it for religious purposes.. just a few words of wisdom in there.

Like the Christian Bible has some deep stuff too. I never read the whole Dianetics. It just gave me some insight on gaining peace of mind. Read it to find out...

Oh, and Comedy writing secrets isn't what David D makes it out to be. It's not a 'how to be funny' book. It just explains how comedians think. IF you try to look at the world as they do, then you'll prolly also just have a more humorous personality.

I bought Think and Grow Rich as it is recommended by a lot of people, not just DJs and also Psychocybernetics. Haven't got all the way through them yet but from what I've read they're worth a look.

GREAT book. But really, it's only useful to DJ's of the higher calibre. Really deep inner stuff in there. Also, I find it extremely hard to read and understand cuz it's mostly written in a poetic "chinese sage" style. Takes multiple readings to really grasp what it's trying to tell you.

So if your tired of reading yoda-like phrases, try this modern no-bullsh*t interpretation. Its pretty funny too!:woo:

I actually took an Asian Philosophy class and had to read this. Very good book, especially since I was taking the class as well to further discuss the main points.

I picked up "Think and Grow Rich" today. I was about to leave and just checked out a little of Psychocybernetics. Looked like a great read, so I got that too.

i heard the 48 Laws Of Power by Robert Greene and Joost Elfers is a great book based a lot in the principles of The Prince by Machiavelli. unfortunately i cant find it here in Portugal, seems this book has a lot of search in here.

The Rules of Life - Teaches you zen-like acceptance of rejection, etc. This is the general DJ bible that we should follow. Arguably better than 48 Laws of Power, which can corrupt your DJ ways.

Four Agreements - Also well worth the money. I later bought the Mastery of Love.
