Syncmaster,

One thing you haven't covered is why the two of you broke up. Not that it's any of our business, but if you would care to share, I'm sure everyone here can give you some good insights. There is an great probability that you simply can't pinpoint the "why" of it right now because you haven't had time to hash it all out yet. That's perfectly understandable. However, some of the posters here who went through something similar have had time to do this and maybe they can give you some food for thought.

SYNC: I don't buy it, not at 19. As impressive as your resume sounds with a business, college ambitions, being a troop master and playing in a band sound, it still begs the question:

What on earth are you thinking proposing marriage to the only girlfriend you've had at 19 with all of that going on? As independent and mature as you think all of that paints you to be, all it does is further emphasize what you'd be willing to sacrifice if she had in fact agreed. If, as you say, you've got all this going for you, one would think that you'd realize the committment of effort and responsibility needed maintain success in business, college, community service (scout troop indeed) and artistic pursuits and weigh this into being married to the only chick to ever spread her legs for you.
