"Huh," I reply.

To help drive this point home, he compares selling raw milk to selling pot.

"Interesting," I say. At that moment, I am standing in my kitchen with the fridge door open, staring at my gallon of possible contraband.

This seems positively surreal, like some parody of the war on drugs aired on Saturday Night Live.

The Truth is They want your milk to be homogenized, and pasteurized or else.

I grew up on raw unpasteurized milk....I remember drinking out of the bucket as a kid, when my gradnmother would milk the caws.....all nice a foamy. ahh the good old days....and the water from natrual spring, filtered by nature.....mmmm and fresh air, no cars or trucks.... **home sick ***

I grew up drinking raw milk. Until I was 9 years old and moved to the US.

On many occasions I've had milk pretty much 10 minutes after it was out of the cow, tasted great.

Usually though, to be safe, we boiled the milk. Just let it boil for 5 minutes. That's it.

I've had lots of health problems over the years, but not one relating to consumtion of raw products.

Honestly, after you drink raw, or just boiled milk... the milk you get here at a shop rite tastes like water. The taste of raw milk is closer to how half&half tastes. (I'd drink half&half, but I don't want to go through heart surgery just yet)

Fresh products, chicken that's raised "wild" pretty much anything, tastes SOOO much better. Yes there are some minor risks involved, but realitically, you have a better chance of diying in a car crash.

My guess is, these laws were passed to inhibit the ability of small farms to sell directly to consumers.

The Time article actually says SELLING raw milk is illegal. It doesn't actually say drinking raw milk is illegal. If you enjoy going to the farm and sucking Bessie's teats, nobody is going to arrest you.

My guess is, these laws were passed to inhibit the ability of small farms to sell directly to consumers.

How about you stop "guessing" and actually do some informed research? Make decisions based on logic and information, not emotional states.
