whats the difference? why does some weightlifters and rocky drink eggs uncooked in the morning?
and whats better? cooked or uncooked? and why?

the only reason some people drink raw eggs is to show how hardcore they are. to a lot of people, the thought of a raw egg is disgusting and they believe it is full of salmonela. the possibility is there, although its not very high. so when someone eats a raw egg he wants to show how tough he is (or thinks he is)

I've eaten raw eggs for well over a year. I've stopped eating the whites raw, however, because it can deplete avidin in your body.

But the main reason people eat raw eggs is not to show how hardcore they are, but because there's more health benefits associated with them.

yeah the raw egg thing was about trying to ingest protein that wasn't denatured by the heating during cooking. Problem with that logic is that once you eat any protein it is still digested the same by enzymatic proteins in the gut and stomach acids. It is really stupid and a great way to give yourself salmonella. Salmonella will put you out of commision for weeks. Cook your eggs.

Denatured proteins will be renatured in your body so I also dont see the logic.

So what are the benefits of eating raw eggs?

well generally you dont really have much(key word) of a chance of salmonella unless the eggs have been laying around

but i still wouldnt eat eggs raw.

Raw eggs digest easier

Chaps, raw eggs are digested and absorbed easily. The reason why Whey is so effective is because of quick absorption. Same goes for raw eggs. Its pointless eating them raw in the morning or pre workout. Post workout, or just before bed to put something in your stomach is not a bad idea though.

golden rule - liquid is easier to digest = faster absorption by body.

Its also easier. Eat 7-8 eggs a day, and see how quickly you get tired of cooking em.

Salmonella is said to only affect 1 in 10 000 eggs, according to a flex article I read a while back. Not bad odds. Im lazy enough when it comes to cooking to take my chances.

Be sure to cook the whites. Eating too much raw egg white can result in a severe biotin deficiency.

typically, how much proteins are we taking in from a single egg on the average?
