I think your expression is the problem, in this picture at least. Nothing wrong with your face, but you appear soft, passive, and depressed. Show some testosterone, snarl or something. :)
Seriously, be a little more animated, show some expression. Smirking would help.

Hey everyone,

thanks for all the feedback. ive never gotten a young nick cage but ty :p
All of the comments are on the money pretty much. Ive generally lacked confidence for ever since I can remember. I only get confidence when I drink too much, sad I know.

Now I realise, as long as I dont have 2 heads and im average looking, that I can get them to sleep with me. I had a limiting belief for the longest time that they only sleep with good looking guys and im not one of them.

Holy shit son! If this is you main pic, you're never gonna get anywhere, especially on POF!!

I dont take offense, I value negative feedback now.
You are correct btw, I have never gotten anywhere on pof or oasis with this pic, I get the 'sorry youre not my type', over and over again.
Women in general say the dont want a player but their actions suggest otherwise.

Yes ive always been a easily exploited nice guy, my entire life. Selfless, humble, unable to take a compliment, unassuming.

It comes back to the confidence thing. With low confidence, you are afraid to take risks your image, so you're left with a safe, nice guy image I guess.

Does anyone have any tactical ideas for finding that 'edge'.

I agree with Vatoloco that you look like a nice guy. In fact, you have the same kind of look I had in my early to mid 20s. That said, you definitely have good potential.

A couple of immediate changes I would make:

Change your hair. It doesn't look bad, but it looks kind of safe and conservative. Try and get a more modern cut. Perhaps even consider dying it a shade darker.

Secondly, get a tan. I'd recommend a tanning bed over fake tan as it's much more natural. Just use them in moderation. Most of the health risks of sunbeds apply to people who abuse them. But that aside, a tan would give you a big edge.

In terms of long term changes, get yourself in the gym and look to improve your diet. People underestimate the effect that working out has on your features, but this is a huge change I noticed in myself. You have quite a soft look, whereas working out will increase testosterone, help drop some of the puppy fat around your face and give your jaw and cheekbones more definition and more masculinity.

In fact, you can actually work your jaw muscles by placing paper between your teeth and clenching your jaw, holding it for a few seconds and repeating.

And although you're far from fat, you will find that lowering your bodyfat and increasing your muscle mass will make a huge difference to how people perceive you. As I say, I once had that soft nice guy look, but after just months of working out people were laying on the compliments and saying how they barely recognised me.

Oh and working out will improve your confidence too. It will help you feel more bold and masculine.

Spot on Jariel! Change your hairstyle bro. Hair makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE!

Also get in the gym, get on a good diet to lean out and you will get some @ss.

you kinda look like me when I was in my 20's. Get a tan and a mustache growth of about a week and some chin stubble, longer hair and you will have more of a weathered California look which did very well for me when I lived there. You have that guy next door computer junkie harmless look in your pix. Many girls like a edgier look as I found out as i got older.

If you put a wig on, some nice make up and short skirt, I would probably do you after a couple beers.:p

Nice pic but you are going to attract a ton of fat chicks with that on your profile. Like someone else said, it exudes a nice guy, someone love me vibe.

Okay, I have the nicest guy on the planet look, this is established. (I actually am a nice guy, so much for 'being yourself')

Now how do I fix it?
- working out and building up testosterone levels
- shorter, or different hair?
- facial expressions and projected attitude
- style of clothes?
- facial tattoos and piercings? lol

???

so much work...and porn is so easy...fml

Thanks guys

I don't know your personality, but some smart people can be a bit dry. Speak with some enthusiasm to help counter that sad look on your face.

I'm not saying be high energy gay, but talk about things that are fun and excite you. That will help to.

Your hair is ok, but a good stylist can probably help come up with somethng more sexy. Whatever you do though, DON'T go to a mature lady to get your hair done. Older women will almost always give you a more conservative, boring, nice guy style. (It's like how they dress their husband, nice but conservative enough to avoid female attention.). You need a young hottie, or a stylish bad boy straight guy stylist. Or a stylish gay guy who isn't too flamin' lol.

Yeah, all in all, it is a lot of work. But you might as well look your best.

But your base looks are nothing to worry about. If I saw you on a date with a good looking chick, I wouldn't think twice about it.

(I mean it wouldn't be one of those, "Why is she with HIM lol?" things.)

A little eyeliner and lipstick? Plus, make sure to shave your nose hairs.

Just kidding. There is nothing wrong with your appearance.

Be who you are brother.

Well, for starters, you're gonna have to change your attitude. Have you gone through the DJ Bible and Pook? If not, the DJB is at the bottom of this page and you can google "The Book of Book" and start reading.

To start with, you need to think of yourself as The Prize. Eventually as you grow as a Man, you will have to work towards actually being The Prize.

Like I said, you're not ugly but you don't have that masculine face with a strong jaw line, prominent cheekbones, deep set eyes or prominent brow line so you're gonna have to work with your features.

IDK how old you are but I'd recommend going with the Keith Urban look. Young women seem to like that and I think it'll fit you well. So work on that tan, hair and stubble.

Good luck kiddo!

"I don't know your personality, but some smart people can be a bit dry."

Yes I am very guilty of this. Ive always made jokes with dry delivery. Alot of the time im not that animated. Im not the guy who enjoys small talk. I can be funny though.

"Speak with some enthusiasm to help counter that sad look on your face."
- For a long time, ive been accused of having a sad look on my face. Even when I wasnt feeling that bad. Facial muscles tend to remember the dominant setting you give them I guess, and over time, a dominant expression sinks into your face.

"DON'T go to a mature lady to get your hair done." - too late haha.
She did a good job but it is safe. Its shorter, and less hair around the ears. I like it but its not different.

"But your base looks are nothing to worry about. If I saw you on a date with a good looking chick, I wouldn't think twice about it."
This is a little surprising to me at first. I had/have a limiting belief here...I would think twice about it. Ive never felt good enough for the hotties in my life.

"Average looking but you can ride that 5'11" a long way. Im rather good looking but 5'7" and its a killer."

Its all relative. I live in a part of sydney where people are very good genetically. You remember the australian 'cronulla race riots'. I only mention it because it made world news. I live 10min from cronulla. There are so many guys here that are tall, and more muscular on average to what you guys may expect, and tanned. I am only slightly above avg in height, relative to the area I live. im average in body (I almost had a 6 pack at 21 because I was obsessing over my diet and workouts). im very white (I hate the idea of tanning, because of skin cancer, which is a massive killer in australia). My brains count for nothing of course though. So Its high competition, put it that way.
