what are some good songs like this....ive noticed that snoop likes to take rock and rap to the beat of rock, like i was just listening to his remix of riders on the storm by the doors, which was pretty tight. thats an exmaple of what im looking for, anybody listens to this type of mix?

Most old-school RUN-DMC will do.

King of Rock
Raising Hell

Just a couple of examples.

Rock isn't a 'beat'. A 'beat' is the basic rhythmic unit in a piece of music. Rock music isn't defined by it's rhythm its defined by the instruments and sounds made with those instruments.

But yes, a LOT of Rap 'songs' use rock, classical, jazz or blues samples and make insane amounts of money by writing some half hearted repetitive lyrics.

no, there is a thing called a 'rock beat' i'm not a drummer so its sort of hard to explain, but if i get my brother (a drummer) to play a rock beat, i can pretty much play the notes to anything to that beat and it will be a rock song simply because of the changes and rhythm of the beat
