It was sharply divided on this board, but I texted this;

1:10p - me to her "Something came in AM. Don't want to run circles around you anyway. :) lets slow it down and do afternoon hike and sushi."

5:54 here to me "Hey sorry left my phone at my sister's house and just got it back. Sat afternoon is perfect!"

BOOYAH!
Good stuff:up:

Well.. I thought we made nice work.

Then this morning at 8:50 I get this text from her

"Hey something came up and I won't be able to make it out there today :( Family stuff!"

No idea how I should respond. Just "Cool, talk to you later?" ?

Don't respond
Saw this a minute too late. I did a little research on old threads on this site regarding flakes and found this line that I responded with:

"OK, I'll see how you make it up to me before I pass judgment."

How do you think of that?

She's a useless flake. The sister's house thing is BS. The "family stuff" excuse is BS.

Bottom line is that SHE is BS.

Drop her, delete her number and never look back. She is good for nothing and doing nothing other than wasting your time for a selfish reason; patting her own ego that she can have you whenever she wants.

Her loss.

Stop contacting her now. She made up a lame excuse with no counteroffer. If she counteroffered then I say keep going but she didn't. She didn't "lose her phone" either.

Game over on this one.

Yeah, that's a bad sign. Lack of any counter offer is disappointing.

If you are really interested, let it sit for a week or until she contacts you, and follow up with what I said before - give her a ping, see where interest lies in the first couple texts, then go for a meet-up if it seems there's interest.

If it fails there, it's a done deal and move on. Even then odds are against ya.

My guess is she never replied to your text there, either.

A lot of you guys go overboard on the CF, in my opinion. If every text or contact is something that's supposed to be witty, you start to look needy and have no "cool" about you.

Try something more serious. "Hey you, I'm going hiking at [wherever] this Saturday and I just thought of you. Why don't you come on with me? Hike and a nice lunch."

And leave it at that. Too much CF is an easy tell of your hand.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

Agree with this. Not necessarily using you for her ego, but I'm sensing very low interest on her part. But yours is super high, and you're not doing a good job of hiding it. So naturally, she knows you're interested, want to meet up and date, and she keeps brushing you off. Usually how it works.

It's better to let them chase and initiate, IMO.

But she's not putting any effort into ****, so she might not be that interested. She's just agreeing and making up excuses to not show up - with NOTHING inbetween. She SHOULD be contacting and wanting to see YOU.

The first date or meet up is just them being intrigued about a new prospect. Doesn't mean ****, and initial interest can change very fast.

Every time a girl acted like this - regardless of when - she had low interest. High interest - even with the same person, at different periods - was when they were contacting constantly, missing me, wanting to see me RIGHT NOW, complimenting and flirting, talking sexual... The works... With little effort on my part. When I was doing all the work, and they were very nonchalant and incommunicado and just hesitantly agreeing to meet over time - they didn't give a ****, and had very little interest.

Chicks with high interest usually come on pretty strong, and are all eager and excited. The infatuation bubble is in full play. Not seeing that here.
