All right, so I've heard throughout my life that you should never wash your hair everyday.

Now, I rarely go a day without washing my hair as I feel like I'm not %100 clean if I don't wash it. So, I attempted to not wash, or at least clean it with shampoo. But, now I'm hearing that it's bad to simply just put water on your hair every day.

Is that truly the case?

Also, what if you work out five days a week? Do you just let your hair stay dirty from all the sweat?

Seriously bro, where did you hear that putting water in your hair every day is bad?

Craziest thing I ever heard.

If you live in a tropical climate and are active, 2 showers a day are the norm.

As for shampoo / conditioner, used too much, this can affect your hair. Keep that to 2x a week maximum.

It's probably not the water or shampoo but just the physical act of washing it that is the problem.

Maybe the more you mess with it the more chance it will fall out.

For some reason all my friends who are "hat guys" seem to be losing their hair. Some people say that the reason they are wearing the hats is due to their hair loss. But they had hair before.....

Why would anyone want to be greasy?
I have longer hair. Washing everyday is a chore and dries the hair out, dries the scalp out making it easy to flake (dandruff) and it's easier to damage from washing because it's longer.

I wash it every 2-3 days. Unless I do something really intense at the gym, then I'll just rinse it.

It was really greasy at first until my scalp adjusted from daily washing when I had short hair. Took a few weeks for the adjustment.

Some people say that the reason they are wearing the hats is due to their hair loss. But they had hair before.....
Anecdotal evidence: Baldness doesn't run in my family. I've worn plenty of hats and I have not lost hair from it. I mean daily and for long periods at places of work. What can cause hair loss is scalp infection from dirty hats that people don't wash.

From ages 18-20 i only shampooed and conditioned once every three months or so because i hated how much shampoo dried my hair out.
I washed it daily with water though and never had a problem with greasy hair, it was less greasy than it is now and i shampoo once every three days. In fact many girls asked me what I was putting in my hair to make it look so healthy, we all know how many of them suffer over their hair. So hair products are a bit of a con job.

What about your azz crack hair? I am being very serious. I have super thick azz crack hair. It is a problem. Why? Because after every bowel movement (especially the sticky ones) I have to basically figure out a way to untangle the mess of azz crack hair and poop. Do you guys trim your azz crack hair, shampoo it, or use regular soap? What about after a sloppy bowel movement?

I promise you that more than one guy on here has the same issue. Bowel movements are about the only taboo left these days in America. Time to end that right here.

This is what I was thinking, along with the scalp drying out and the natural oils in your hair being washed out when you shampoo it.

Eh, I may just deal with the crummy feeling and shampoo it every other day.

Thanks, guys.

Here is the official word:
"If you wash your hair every day, you're removing the sebum," explains Michelle Hanjani, a dermatologist at Columbia University. "Then the oil glands compensate by producing more oil," she says.

She recommends that patients wash their hair no more than two or three times a week.

There's also a lot of variation among hair types. African-Americans and people with curly hair can go even longer between washes compared to folks with straight hair.

Not a troll. Maybe most of you are too young. But real men have a lot of azz crack hair. It does get in the way if you have healthy bowel movements. Some of you do know this. The rest of you are probably still in high school. Even some high school boys have it.

Anything to do with a bowel movement is still taboo to you. We all look in the toilet after we release a big sloppy mess. We all look at the toilet paper after we wipe. Some of us even smell it. For you to call me a troll shows me that you are full of s--- (no pun intended).

Just yesterday I wiped and wiped. Yet, when I was took off my boxers I still had a little hunk of dried up poop dangling from an azz crack hair. And yes, I refuse to trim that part of my body. I do not, and will never, partake in gay sex. So why should I care if my azz crack hair is thick? Plus, how does one get a good view of it to trim the stuff?

Hahaha.. I think you just clearly described why you should care, even though you don't have gay sex.
