whatsup

some days ago i was at my friends house. i grabbed a bottle of "pepsi max" for maximum taste with no calories. im always drinking pepsi max when im there, i teached him some bodybuilding lifestyle so everythin alright. then after i did drink the whole bottle i wanted to read up about the ingredients. ingredients:water, sugar(hm?sugar in pepsi max??ummmm **** DAMN YOU GUESSED IT I DID DRINK A FULL BOTTLE OF SACCHAROSE!!!!!!it was pepsi NORMAL lolol)

so after this exciting story here my question

before i left the house i did drink a whey shake with milk

so there was protein in my metabolism

i took me about 1,5hours to drink the pepsi

so although sugar is very high GI it took a lot of time to drink it so the bloodsugar must have been pretty high but constant?

my question is - did it build some muscle or some fat??

my second question is if you drink 1 litre pepsi 1 hour before going to sleep, are the carbs burned within this hour. because complex carbs are a waste of calorie before sleeping but simple carbs?? how long do they take to get burned??

pepsi has no nutritional value and will not help you build muscle.

it has no vitamins/minerals. but it has glucose+fructose and in my book glucose helps building muscle.

that one pepsi isnt going to make any significant impact on muscle or fat.

if youre eating carbs before bed stick w/ low GI carbs, they are not wastes of calories...i really dont know what you mean by that. calories dont just burn because you eat them...otherwise no one would be over weight.

If you had drank the pepsi before a workout yoou'd have been better off. Your body would have burned off the sugar as it is easiest for your body to burn. However, you drank it before bed, at that point your metabolism drops like a rock. You would have burned off a bit of that sugar, but you probably stored the bulk of it as fat. Sorry. Stick to diet soda if you drink soda.

Soda is just bad period. I drink it sometimes but there's better options for increasing bloodsugar levels.

That's pure bull**** diablo, I wouldn't give "holisticmed" a day. Give me links to the studies which all these symptoms have been shown. If a study showed somone dying I don't think aspartame would be allowed in a country like USA.

Here are some REAL information about aspartame.

Well if you drink a whole liter of pepsi, that'll give a sh!tload of energy...but if you drink it, sit around, and go to bed, what the hell are you accomplishing? That'll just add fat, nothing more (unused energy).

As for your first question...as far as I know, the Pepsi and the protein acted independently on each other--that is, the protein fed some muscles, and the Pepsi probably just got sent straight to your gut (if you were just sitting around).

that one pepsi isnt going to make any significant impact on muscle or fat.
You obviously have very little dieting experience.

I can't believe what I read here half the time.

If anyone here seriously believes that pepsi should be a cornerstone of muscle-building then try 6 litres a day for a month and tell me what happens!

Glucose is ONLY necessary post-workout when you need some simple sugars to spike insulin (most anabolic hormone in the body) which in turn gets the muscle repair process going (i.e. rebuilding and growing bigger and stronger). At any other time of day it's only good for a brief sugar high/instant energy or in the case of colas and sodas, a thirst-quencher (or some of 'em anyway, coke actually makes me thirsty).

The fact that you had milk with your whey slowed down the absorption of the protein so you probably didn't have that much protein in your system by the time you'd finished drinking the pepsi anyway. While it's an interesting question, I have to wonder why you should ask it in the first place.. what does it matter? (not that I'm against learning how your body works, I'm all for it, I just don't think a discussion over a bottle of pepsi is going to make a difference when every workout you're destroying the logbook and eating well..)

derEikopf - why do you say he has no experience? If you eat healthily for 6 days of the week, and on the seventh have a pizza, will there be any significant effect? No - in much the same way the pepsi won't have had much impact at all.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.

my friend asked me if it is very bad that i drunk it and i said honestly i dont really know probably not that bad as long as i dont go sleeping imediately after drinking pepsi. thats why i wanted to find out cause im the nutrition master in my social circles(not very difficult) and want to stay on top of my game. another reason is that i think the question is more interesting than the usual questions about diet/Nutrition

The sugar in pepsi makes it so high GI that sleeping after it is irrelevant for me, it'd be processed in a very short time anyway.

Are you trying to justify ****ing up your diet and drinking stuff you WANT instead of what you NEED? Your question has been answered: Yes, any soda is bad for you. If you ABSOLUTELY have to drink some crappy sugary drink, then do so right after the workout when it hurts the least. Otherwise cut it all together.

You essentially upped your VALUE in her eyes by showing her that, if she wants you, she has to at times do things that you like to do. You are SOMETHING after all. You are NOT FREE. If she wants to hang with you, it's going to cost her something — time, effort, money.
