I dunno, PRL in one way or another said that my mother was and is a wh*re. I really can't see myself taking advice from someone who makes labels based on a bizarre moral code that excludes character and substance.

P_S's latter post were highly offensive and demeaning. Was it really necessary to post with such hostility? I mean we all interact over a computer, why revert back to doing things the way primortial man did?

I'm not saying either of them did not have conviction and gumption but they were both kind of loose cannons with their words. On one hand what they delivered was powerful and had great impact, however the backlash resulting from that power (without restraint) did a significant amount of harm to the people who were probably trying to utilize said power to their benefit.

Both of them preached individual "Truths" to the board but some of what they both said lacked signficant depth of analysis, and instead used plays on faith for their explinations.

I'm not saying their being banned was justified but really reading their basic "philospohies" over and over again couldn't of helped most of you as much as some of you claim. They were both entertaining though, before the madness began.
i don't understand why they would be banned?

see, the youngest people who would come here are 14. average would be somewhere between 17-20 i'd assume.

PRL got banned for what exactly? constant flaming wars with other users?

whats the difference with flaming and making pointless threads/replys, namely "lol" or ":)"?

both waste bandwidth, and peoples time.

flaming wars can be just as easily avoided as a thread calling pink shirts gay, et cetera.

-i don't read flaming wars, nor am i involved in them.
-i also don't read threads about pink shirts being gay.

simple. neither affects my time at sosuave, and it shouldn't affect others.

now, if this was a TV show, and constant references to "h*m*'s" and "wh*res" were made, i can understand that would be a problem as you get angry mothers ringing up. as far as i know, no mothers have ever contacted sosuave.

bring him back...

you mean to tell me that all of the pointless, crappy posts here and HE gets banned?

the fact that you banned the guys for them expressing their true piont if view is AFC in itself.

You don't have to agree with what they say, but by god let them say what they feel.

I want them both back. PRL...P_S.
Ain't gonna happen. Both of them earned their bans. Both of them had plenty of opportunities to prevent being banned. They probably, for various reasons, had more opportunities to avoid being banned than any of you would have.

Over my dead body.

They did offer good advice about 10% of the time, but the other 90% they were worthless trolls.

They deserved it and are not coming back.

I've seen quite a few people get banned for posting their opinions.

Whether or not you agreed with PR Lover or not, if he's not be expletitive there is no reason to ban him, or anyone else.

It seems like mods are just banning people if they don't like their posts, rather than just letting people ramble their opinions which is what this board should be about.

I don't like your post. Can you still log in?

Good, now shut it.

Re:

What calls for banning and what are the guidelines?

Boys here get so fussy over a few mud-slinging rounds? Are you telling me nobody has ever stepped up to your face and pulled your reality card?

I'm not condoning confrontation or trollish behavior, BUT, if you don't like something, ignore it, or lock the read, plain and simple.

If you check out P_S posts throughout the net, he's one of the FEW who walk the walk AND talk the talk and spreads his wealth fully.

If these guys got banned, I'd call to the carpet those posts or regular posters who degrade the quality of site like this not by their trollish behavior, but by their sympish behavior. On sites like CJ.com the owners and mods don't get involved in the boards posts. They act like police, not imposing their moral, ethical, religious, spiritual, or other guidelines on others. "Pissing in their backyard" so to speak.

Quite honestly, the likes of PRL and P_S are tiny when compared to some of the degrading behavior found on the boards. Young blokes need older, wiser men to look up to, and with the good comes the bad. You won't have the perfect mack, player, or PUA, they are that way for a reason. BUT, people are entitled to their free speech, regardless, and should be able to say what they want and feel without worrying about the backlash of "big brother."

If you direct the thought of SS.com, you kill the creativity. Albeit, destructive posts are not conducive to the goal of SS.com, whatever that may be. Nonetheless, members SHOULD KNOW that they can speak freely without offending any one with fear of reprisal.

For instance...a little girl in the town I work wrote an autobiography on Ellen Degenerees. Some may dislike her, some may like her. Point is, she won the writing contest. To the ire of the runner up kid's parents, they lashed out. The parents, angered their son didn't win because he wrote a poorly written autobiography on his dad, contacted the WBC, the Western Baptist Church. The same church who hates fags and anything to do with it. They posted their arrival on their site and made notice they were coming. Some of their flag signs were...

"God hates fags."
"God Bless 9/11."
"God Made AIDS."
"God hates you."

Despite the obvious hate in their signs and attitude, cops and swat alike provided protection within their small, confined area so that they could protest. About 50% of the protesters were kids under the age of 15. The town lined up with 200+ students, parents, and teachers, while onlookers just observed in horror. Yet, it ended peacefully, both sides had their say and off they went.

I can think of few greater indignities, and yet, their rights and freedoms were upheld, despite their glaring hatred and potential threats they posed.

If such extreme circumstances are tolerated, why not here? Are those who bring discension squashed out?

Ok, Let's examine this carefully. Both of these posters were good posters in the beginning....and then something happened.

What happened to them? I don't really know. For some reason they changed. Like something from a Sci-fi movie they just attacked their fellow posters without rhyme or reason. If they didn't start the fight then they certainly propagated it.

They became a disruptive influence on the board. No longer were they posting good and helpful information. They were posting hateful, ugly and disruptive posts(IMHO). Why? Why? Why?

I really can't tell you why a poster would do this. Maybe boredom. Maybe they just want to brag about being banned from SoSuave. Who knows....

I'm sure that they appreciate the response that their banning has recieved. Perhaps that was the purpose. Attention.

This is the very kind of thread that you guys (we) are constantly complaining about.

I'm not looking for any response really. It's really moot at this point.

Thread closed.
