PUA material is useless?

just skimming blogs the other day, i found this blog entry.

on one hand i see where he is coming from and he makes perfect sense, on the other hand i know there must be some merit to the PUA community.


am i mixing somehting up here?

In this community, I think the best thing to do is take everything with a grain of salt. If you take this stuff (material) too seriously you can end up overcomplicating things which can unfortunately stunt you're growth into having success with women and probably make you worse off than before. Find you're "cliche" and take down notes on what YOU think can help YOU, not some regurgitated and overemphasised product from snakes oil salesmen.

Its not really about MATERIAL, it's about the player using the material. If you read hundreds and hundreds of material, it's up to YOU whether they work or not. Is the blog writer using the same PUA routines he says hasn't worked? Who knows. It literally is up to you whether the guidlines work or not.

Treat Pick Up Material like an art exhibition. All you really need is the basics, design sense and colour theory. The fundamentals are what hold you're painting together. You'll get other painters with different styles of you're same painting. It's up to you whether you're personality fits that painting or if you're personating someone elses.

i read another entry where he apparently picked up BJ Penn's niece. i'm wondering if he is using material without even knowing it because he mentions hair pulling which i've heard mentioned here before as well.

I think too many men expect to read a guide and suddenly become better with women, unfortunately life isn't that simple, if it were we'd all be millionaires off the back of a "A Dummies Guide to becoming a Millionaire".

Guides are only the starting the point, it is you who ultimately has to be the finishing point. This man probably thought it was the other way around and thus has gripes with the material he has read.

Why not do both? Thats why there is a huge cult-like following of PUA Bashers going around now, because some guys think they should be banging Meagan Fox as soon as they've completed a Bootcamp Seminar. Doesn't work like that.

Pulling hair isn't pickup material, girls will tell you themselves to pull their hair.

There is a lot of BS in the pickup community. I think how much certain advice will help you depends on what kind of person you are, and specifically what exactly is holding you back. Certain people will benefit greatly from certain advice, while it won't do anything for others. That's why many pickup instructors make an assessment based on a person's personality and tailor their advice accordingly.

Someone here said the best thing you can do is to improve yourself and actually turn yourself into a man of value. Then women will be attracted to you naturally. That's the best advice I've heard.

Very true man. I have experienced that first hand, and I am recovering back to prgress. Pua is, or most of it is ****. Just get the basics mastered, and then complicate things, or tweak them. It is a tough game we are all in, and many people make it tougher by analyzing everything

Having inner game is far more valuable than just using PUA stuff. Many women are onto the PUA stuff anyway. When my inner game is 100% I have had women offer me their numbers without asking.

The PUA guide is what you make of it. I read it and realised that I'll never make a good pick up artists because I'm not interested in solely adding to the number of notches on my bed post.

I read the book of pook and the DJ Bible some years ago and that did wonders for me. The book of Pook is the only guide that promoted me into swift action after it taught me that I matter, not women and that women are just an external part of my world.

The book of pook didn't automatically change me, but what it did do was inspire me to change and that's what I got out of that guide. It's not full proof, nothing is and if you are expecting a manual/guide/doctrine to instantly change upon reading it without any effort on your part to take the advice on board and follow through with swift action then you are expecting far too much from these guides and will ultimately be left feeling bitterly disappointed.

A guide can only guide you on to a better path, it's entirely up to you if that's the path you wish to pursue...

I think the pickup material in itself is worthless. The real gem is the community it creates. It's a great place for men to talk about their experiences. To give and to receive feedback.

The whole concept of trying to go for a same night lay just sounds creepy. Any girl who puts out on the night I meet her is not worth my time.

Why is that creepy to you? It happens out in the real world, outside the community every night around the world. All the PUAs are doing are putting a set of basic formula textbook methods of "how" it happens. Its just stripped down step by step in literature of what "Naturals" do. Thats basically what PUA material is.

Same Night Lays differ from One Night Stands dude. Same Night Lays can lead to relationships given that you or the woman do not get buyers remorse. If you don't regret your decision of having sex with her and vice versa, it leaves opportunities for future encounters, right? I think some dudes get mistaken with Same Night Lays and One Night Stands here. I've personally been in a 1.5 yr LTR from a SNL, given that I knew her a little longer than expected though.
