Let me guess. Another whiney 150lb fag telling us we don't need protein to grow? I haven't watched the video, just guessing. :D

(I could be wrong but I doubt it.)

Then he's (yet another) prime example of why you DO need protein to grow.

A twig extolling the virtues of low protein for muscle growth.. what a surprise.

Watching 10 seconds of this video showed me that the guy was lacking in the testosterone dept. Hmm...I wonder if lack of quality protein might have something to do with it..

Obviously. Animal products are essential to produce testosterone, and that guy's a pure vegan (no eggs, no milk, no nothing). He looks everything but healthy, IMO.

It's true that protein combining is a myth. Your body stores excess amino acids in the blood for up to a week before converting excess amines into calcium salts and disposing of them in your urine. You might look up Dr. McDougall to see a lot more information on the topic of how humans process and use amino acids.

The main problem with that wikipedia article is that it's still using protein requirements based on lab animal needs and not what humans require. Even the USDA has recently lowered their recommendations for daily protein consumption despite meat/dairy industry protests (they left their numbers much higher than what the scientists advised). Additionally, the article is also using lab animal data that scores whey protein as being a 'perfect' protein, egg albumin is more commonly referenced as a 'perfect' protein but that is also based on lab animals and not on human needs.

To the best of my knowledge there have only been two studies done on human amino acid needs using the same proven methods used on lab animals. Both studies results matched and found that the 'perfect' source of protein for humans was skin-on potato! Access to these studies is now reserved for other researchers since political correctness declared them to be unethical (one was done by Germany during WWII, the other was done in the '50s on US prisoners).

Protein just isn't an issue for humans. Under current guidelines the ideal diet based on calories (since caloric intake self adjusts) is that your diet should be 10% protein, 25% fat, 65% carbohydrates. The scientists wanted protein to be at 5-7% but that number got raised (as I said earlier<g>).

Don't worry about protein and/or amino acids! It's just not a problem on any decent veggie diet (unless you're in the meat industry<evil grin>).

^^^ wtf is with this new breed of spambots?

Someone should tell the guy that the enzymes he's eating are also actually proteins and are digested the same way as any other protein, they don't remain enzymes in the body for very long...and you don't have to cook a food to study its composition...and there is the same amount of amino acids in cooked food as in raw food. What a preachy, clueless fknut...can't believe people listen to this emaciated loon. He should try speaking to an audience with a basic level of biochemistry and see how far he gets. Oh well, more beef and eggs for me!

This video is even better http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=EYO4dfwhzvQ&feature=PlayList&p=65D89142113E8F95&index=9

Haha totally man... gotta love that! "Enzymes are just combinations of amino acids... they're not proteins!" hahaha.

A 'Yeast infection' link...C'mon honestly now, how dumb do they think we are?? haha

The guy is a marthon runner, I'm not surprised he doesn't eat meat. Not everyone is as smart as Michael Phelps when it comes to a diet.

Damn, he has the voice tone of a 14yr old, he is definitely lacking in testosterone, perhaps a proper diet might sort him out.

But whatever, who really cares? I'll keep getting my 'amino acids' from meat etc.

Veganism is a problem when you're training. Counter-productive no matter how you slice it.

Wanna save the plants and ****? Don't bother training then.

PPL need to keep their priorities straight
