Treat prom like it's nothing just another night out, and be friendly and ask a hot girl but make sure you come off like you just trying to have fun not get a fvck afterwards what i waste of time that is i would just go to a kegger and get myself a drunk fvck if thats how it was haha but the point is it's just about having fun, you probably won't even hang out with the chick you asked to the prom during the prom. Your mates will be there her mates will be there.... nothing happens...

This might not be the case with your school, but in mine, even some of the best and most attractive girls didn't have dates. Many of these girls are single to begin with and they aren't approached because guys just assume they're taken or don't have the confidence to.
So girls are just as desperate as guys. Hope that helps any.
