Anyone else who's read Corey Wayne's book take issue with the section where he discusses how to open up a woman who's shut down and says "Nothing" is wrong? He gives examples like singing a silly song, throwing small things at her, taking out dishes she's putting away. All I can think is why is he bothering to engage her?
For me, my "agree and amplify" instincts kick in. Why would I want to attempt to communicate with a woman who tells me that "nothing" is wrong when something obviously is and thus can't communicate with me? Doesn't that improperly reward bad behavior with my time and attention? I'm much more tempted in these situations to say, "Okay, good to know" and walk away, carrying on with my life. If she's got a problem, she can bring it up to me properly.
This type of behavior reeks of passive-aggression, which he says to avoid and eject in his videos. This seems like a real contradiction.
