Update.

I called her this afternoon (3 days since last IM contact).

I started the convo by pulling a joke on her. I changed my voice and pretended to be doing a survey on dishwashing machines. We have a running joke going that I started with a parallel between washing dishes and having sex. :D That's how I originally got her interested in me the first time we chatted on IM. Anyways, I hesitated a bit and she recognized me. Which is astounding considering that I'm really good at changing my voice, and we haven't actually talked in 2 months. Probably the dishwashing machine story gave her a clue too... hehe It still tends to confirm my theory that her IL is at least moderate, and that she doesn't get called by tons of guys.

Anyways, we talked for about 20 to 30 minutes. She seemed really happy that I called, and was as happy and upbeat as usual. We did a bit of small talk, and then mostly talked about theatre (we're both involved in theatre troups). It was a fun and light convo. I teased her a few times. I ended it, saying I had stuff to do, and was planning on going out tonight. She didn't ask for details so I didn't give her any.

Now I consider the ball in her court. I'll wait until she calls me. I've set my IM application to display me as always "offline" to her. I won't answer any eMails she may send. If she wants contact, she'll have to call.

Well I'm going to take a nap. Going dancing tonight, and plan on closing the joint. hehe I'm not as young as I used to be, and about 20% of my town's population is between 18 and 25. It's a student town. ;)

I'll keep you posted.

This is quite an interesting thread nonetheless.

I never give up. Maybe it's the Jim Valvano spirit "Never Give Up!"

You just have to play it cool. Think of everyone in relation to the time invested in it. If it is worth it go for it, but do it in a laid back take it or leave it manner.

I have the feeling if this guy is bold enough with the one girl, he'll end up banging her one night.

Those emails were the most pathetic thing ive read on here in weeks. Please stop emailing her. When she cancelled the second date in a row without a counteroffer you should have realized it was over.
x2.

I couldn't even read them all the way through. I physically could not bear to.

Wow, this is the biggest case of one-itis I've seen in a while. You shot yourself in the foot, your emails are painfully long, way too senstive, you look desperate, it sounds like your divorcing her and taking the kids with you, dude you've only had one date with her, lol. And never tell a girl she's on probation...

First things first: Stop treating David D. like a God. And stop reading his books. Your story is proof his "theories" don't work. Now you know and move on.

Never try to read a woman's mind. It is a scary place. Ignore her confusing signals and mixed messages. Assume she is interested in you and act accordingly.
