okay like everything useful and unendingly powerful its been said before in some way.

DISCLAIMER: this is not original thought.

now

onward.

i think we've all taken the power of voice tone, flow, and inflection for granted. how many of you guys honestly and consistantly speak in a low, slow, dark, mysterious, seductive, seducing tone?

mens great weakness lies in the visual. a woman can many times overtake us by being at the height of physical beauty.

women on the other hand can be seduced IMMENSELY due to the way we as men speak. words are the downfall of the female.

we all talk about confidence, pedastals, manhood, masculinity and the like all the time on the forums.

once in a while we mention that you should speak in a low and seductive tone.

but how many of you are really putting very much emphasis on the way your voice sounds? THIS IS A KEY ELEMENT GUYS.

how many of you speak in a mysterious, vague, and selective way? you should start. dont just converse with a woman. spread your words on her like the most seductive snake. dont just make small talk with her, speak to her soul, evoke her fantasies, exude sex and desire in your words.

speak not often but make your words sparse, vague, and wreaking of mystery, sex, and adventure.

dont let her take your words for granted but only speak to create that air of mystery and sense that you are a sought after seducer sought after by many women.

shift your focus from technique to the effect the sound and usage of words are having on the female psyche, her mood, and her hidden desires.

peace playas... and good luck:D

Interesting.

Women always say that I sound very sexy over the phone. This includes women that hear me on the phone at work in a professional interaction. However, this doesn't happen as much in person.

I wondered why and realized that I don't speak as loud on the phone as I do in person. If your voice is at a higher tone you're likely able to be heard easier due to the fact that the higher tones are easier to hear then the lower vocal tones. My speach is also faster because I want to get points across faster in person for some reason.

I think what I'll do is pretend that I'm speaking over the phone next time I talk in person so I can remember what to do to get that tonality out there.

Good topic.

who told you that?

lower voice tone derived from the stomach and not the upper throat is more likely to be heard.

Take a loud club for example. What do you think would be heard easier, low tones in vocals or high?

The higher, faster wave lengths can more easily cut through ambient noise easier then low, slow tones can.

More tips on how your can train your voice are helpful. that "Empower your voice" thread was good, and the little technique that involves using your diaphram helped me a bit. I still seem to be speaking from my thoat though and not from my gut as you put it. I rekon ive got a small diaphram.. *shrugs*

Speaking from the throat is a serious voice throat, and will make it impossible to get any volume or power in your voice.
An optimal voice should get its resonance from the mouth and nose region (the mask), and use deep breathing from the diaphragm like Dekka said.

I would highly recommend Morton Cooper's books, as I used to have an awful voice, all throaty and monotonous, but now it is a deep, rich bass, that can carry across a room with ease.

Here are a few technique's which might help to bring out the best from your mouth.....

Basically there are three (3) excellent exercises to develop your resonance and pronounciation.

1. THE OOM DRILL for resonance

2. The BEE DRILL for pronounciation/clarity

3. The PBTKG DRILL for clarity and fluidity

All of the drills practiced faithfully and accurately will give your voice the desired results you're looking for.

Before we go to the exercises I'd like to discuss the voice.

Unless your role as an actor calls for you to be mute, your voice is one of your most valuable assets in show business, because you will use it regardless of the medium you're working in.

Your mouth is in reality a built in echo chamber, and when you develop resonance in your voice, your voice will stand out above everybody else's.
If your "echo chamber" is not exercised regulary you will lose your resonance, BUT don't dismay because with the exercises especially the OOM drill you can regain it again within a matter of minutes.

Here's the best way to clear your throat from soreness. I have no stake or interests in the company but I was told about this remedy after I had been in radio broadcasting for a couple of years by an announcer who had been in the business for years. Here's the product Parke and Davis THROAT DISCS.

REMEMBER all the sounds you make should be coming from your diaphram and your mouth is used merely to shape the sounds.

THE OOM DRILL
Stand so that you can get the full dynamics of this exercise.

Relax yourself completely. A good way to do this is to let your muscles relax and holding your arms at your sides shake your hands from side to side.

Take a deep breathe and then let the air out.

NOW take three (3) deep breaths and when you let the third one out use your vocal cords and with the sound coming from your diaphram, voice the sound of oooooooooo until all the air is expelled.

Do this three times in a row in a very relaxed state. DO NOT FORCE THE AIR OUT. Let it flow naturally.

THEN start again only this time near the end of the ooooooo sound add the sound of m so that the sound will come out like oooooooommmmm. ALSO roll your mouth around and close it when you're making the m part of the sound.

REMEMBER the sound comes from your diaphram.

After doing this exercise THEN speak whatever you want to say utilizing the same principles and you will discover a dynamic new voice.

Repeat this exercise three times.

Don't strain your voice here's a clock to keep track of the time. At the start do them for no more than five (5) minutes.

THE BEE DRILL
This is a relatively simple drill that will produce tremendous results.

It consist of saying ee, oo, ah, oh, ay only putting a different letter (NO VOWELS) in front of all the syllables when you say it. Here are two (2) examples...dee doo dah doh day AND ree roo rah roh ray.

There you have it now go to it.

THE PBTKG DRILL
This drill refers to each of the consonants P, B, T, G, K. When you say P your tongue is located just inside your mouth and the letter P is pronounced with the lips. The same thing with the letter B.

But when you utilize the letters T, K, G your tongue should be traveling farther back in your mouth.

Try it P B T K G and when you feel you can do it comfortably, do it a little faster and repeat it many times.

ALSO another combination of letters people mispronounce is the combinatin of th. This is done with the tongue slightly protruding from the mouth. Try it...by saying thank you. NOW think and so on.

I just want to clear this up for me.

In the OOM exercise, are the Os pronounced "AU" as in "BOX" or "U" as in "JUICE"?
