Went to a Holiday party?

Post them here to tell us how it went. It could be great, terrible or alright. Feel free to vent or give out high fives. Also post whether you had fun like dance, karaoke, play musical chairs or had too much to drink lol.

I’ll go first. We had a holiday party at our hotel my parents owned, there was one cute girl there I fancied but I thought she looked a little too young for me plus all the moms, aunties and grandmas were there and I’m gonna freakin admit, I was sorta scared to make a move because I don’t want to be in the rumor mill.

Maybe she probably have Facebook and I’ll dig more info about her.

But anyways, I had a little fun. Sang some karaoke and danced the cha cha with our staff, drank some wine.

By the way, I don’t believe in Christmas anyways. I believe it’s a pagan holiday not Christian in anyway and the only reason I go is so my mom and family won’t go ballistic on me.

No such luck with me. I don't celebrate Christmas either (I might watch a Nativity movie on Christmas eve), not for the reasons you've mentioned, but it's a much needed break.

If your parents are loaded and I'm assuming below 60 - 65 years old, I don't get why you are single though. Not that you sound like the Crazy Rich Asian scenario, but come on, your parents own a hotel and you are really still single? It sounds like your parents are well connected in your community and should be able to set you up with someone. Have they tried that?

Man, wasted opportunity. Grandma and the aunts love when the single nephew makes the moves on the single young girl at the party. Reminds them of back in the day when Gramps came home from the war and took them out when they were 10 years younger fawning over him. Sorry to hear about your case of head trash. Nothing ever wrong with being polite and saying hello.

Private residence holiday parties are probably the best ways to find dates during the challenging November 15-January 1 period.

Big nothing burger. Parents had a party, bartended for about 40 friends family. Tired. Spent all day cooking and entertaining. Received lots of Ioi's from sister in laws younger sister, same age, attractive, but also taken to a man for 5 years and they plan to get married. Ignored hardcore. Typical family drama and stunted conversation. Had friends I hadn't seen a while stop over at the end of the night. Got them drunk while playing games, remembered why I stopped hanging out with them. Hopefully new years eve is better, but I doubt it.

Yeah they’ve been trying to set me up with a few women. The most recent one was pretty.

I’ve been doing tinder game out here and I’ve got a lot of matches. We’ll see how it goes.

best friends family’s Christmas Eve party last night. Brooklyn Italians a big multi course dinner lot of fun. The most i can really report is that i saw his cousin for the second time in two weeks and maybe third time since July. I see her giving me the eye, last time I saw her she was very friendly big smile etc. I don’t think she’s older than 25. Then I get the name of her and her sister backwards. And then to kind of cover that up I’m like well we hadn’t seen each other since probably when the summer? And she’s like we saw each other two weeks ago at my brothers hockey game. Which I knew was true. So I’m like well, that’s cool how’s nursing going. Lol. She didn’t say by on the way out. Lol. She’s cute though. And lot of trouble, getting mixed up in that with her dad, mom, just would be … a lot

also in that evening I think i made plans to go to Miami for nye.

Two cold approaches this Christmas of younger immigrants, master's degrees, working/looking for job. I'd say single women out solo in Christmas are challenges, it seems to be a lot of angst and tension, the one girl barely took me in during our conversation over drinks.

Here in Sweden there's not an urbane practice of socializing, such as found in latin countries. Girls out solo, of course good prey for a cold approacher, have turned out to have a worn life stories. I'd say the well functioning girl gets picked up in an instant, you won't find them on a café, because they function well for relationship, so she's at home brooding her eggs or nurturing her social circle.

I was in the Bronx yesterday at a 45+ person Christmas party.

Brought my little ones. Met a nice girl and her family who took really well to the kids. I had my own family there, my brother is marrying in which is why we got the look to go.

So anyway my baby girl just posts up at the table of this cute red head and not long after my other two are in there with her and her cousin and other two brothers. And then dad is there and I see mom at the other table. So after I make sure it’s not a problem and joke around a bit I start talking to the red head whom I find out is 20 and goes to school 20 minutes from where I live, studying elementary education and used to work at a daycare.

I figure dad is gonna at least have some curiosity as to who I am so I get ahead of that and go say hi to dad and we bs for a bit. Get along great and then he curls off and goes his way.

I have zero doubt from the moment I walked in, literally, when I saw this girl staring at me that I was in business. Here’s what I would normally do if my brother wasn’t marrying into this family. …I would slide into this girls IG, no friend request.

another missed opportunity was to have asked if she was on campus or a commuter.

open to ideas on this one. Those thick legs are haunting me

Maybe I ask my brother if the family is going to wedding. I can then friend all of them on IG, making it less conspicuous when I message her directly.
