Perhaps, but then we always ask if money is well-spent or not. Acts of generosity fall into the category of money well-spent in my opinion.

And then there is quite a difference between a cold hard transaction, and the exchange of gifts. But I guess with a gift you are fully prepared not to get something in exchange... that being the nature of a gift. The receiver of the gift is under no compulsion, for you have not bought anything. Rather, you may in turn receive a gift yourself.... sex then becomes a significant and meaningful act compared to the unsatisfactory sordid act of prostitution.

Prostitution is not the norm of sex. It is simply sex reduced to economics. But I think you know all this. It is just that the expression 'we all pay for sex one way or another' has become so [uncritically] popularized.

If I was well over 40 with no wife or kids, living out of a suitcase in a hotel, with no fixed address and a tendency to fall in love with strippers I'd probably pay for all my dates too. No dig at bigneil, but that is not the lifestyle I aspire to.

I do not think paying for dates with chicks you haven't even slept with yet is a good strategy for anyone under 30 trying to build wealth. If you are DJ you will be going on a lot of dates, many with women whose characters you have no idea of. Paying their share is a fool's errand. Extrapolate that expense across a year and you have yourself a deposit on an investment property - atleast with the kind of dates (and frequency of dates) I ideally like to go on. But each to their own. I fvcked enough women on dates to know that expecting them to contribute means less than you'd think.

If you're going to "invest" in a woman at least wait until after you know how well she gives blowj0bs.

Men who are coddling those whining about having to pay are analogous to fat women who tell each other they look perfect just the way they are. This, as Stefan Molyneux reminded us, is welcomed by the Government who is basically saying to these fat women "Stay just the way you are. No man will ever support you are you are guaranteed to become a pro-welfare state Liberal who ushers in a third word socialist hell hole". Likewise we have those forces at play here, telling men "You'll find a girl who loves you for you. Why should you have to get up and go to work anyway?"

I mean, it's all about mindset. if you go into it thinking you're going to give away $20 to feed the needy or whatever, it won't be a problem. if you go into it thinking that your $20 will be put to good use prepare for disappointment, if you go into it thinking that you won't waste more than you have to then you're not going to want to spend $20 you don't have to.

hard numbers don't work for this though, because we're all in a different situation in our lives, $20 is two hours of hard work for me, but if it's 15 minutes of watercooler gossip for you then it wouldn't mean much, you know?

Note that one of my contracts ended last week so to be fair, I'm actually only making $6600 a week now. But I earned $50,000 in a 5 week span working 3 jobs.

Working 3 is probably too many. When a crisis happens in one, it almost causes a crisis with one of the others. But I've kept 2 jobs for 7+ months and it's been great. You never have to worry about getting fired and behave more like an entity than an employee. I earned nearly 16 months income in 7 months ($225,000 or $32,000 a month) and put away a one year nest egg. Extra money gives you the freedom to not have to jump through hoops all day to make ends meet.

But sir, I'm actually in a higher income bracket than you relative to our age group. I made six figures in dollar terms by the time I was 26 due to starting my own business while working full time, but tell me again how much better you are than everyone else here?

I also spent recklessly on material things, women included...and now that I don't spend needlessly on dates my results haven't changed one bit. In fact, I get laid even MORE and my wallet gets fatter. Win win.
