i have never tried online dating, just wanted to check how good i,m at online dating also i wanted to improve my chatting/talking skills with woman..

so i decide to register on POF[i google it, and find its the best free dating website ]..

when i try to register...hell what..i cant register...it throws me a message saying "You are attempting to signup from a country we currently do not accept signups from your current location. We only accept users from Canada, UK, US, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and Germany"

wtf...

i google it more..why we indians are denied..the result which i got was more shocking, i felt insulted...an wave of anger swept through me.

i felt really bad...here we are in 20th century and this is what we get ..i call it racism.. i can prove my self better person in many ways than 60% of men population in above listed countries..

POF is not racist but there is definitely something wrong with the site. Me and my ex-wife both made profiles there (separate profiles) and then they got deleted three weeks later for no reason. When we tried to re-register it kept throwing that message at us too, even though we're both in the US and are choosing the US. We have a few friends who also use the site and are in the same area as us and their profiles are still active and working no problem. I've emailed the site numerous times but have yet to get even one response back.
We're both pretty bummed as we had both just started talking to people that we were very interested in. The only reason I can even think of is that we both used each others computers to check the site and it flagged us as one person having two profiles. But her cousin checks hers on both of ours too and hers is still working.
Either way... I don't think they're being racist. Just irritating.

Plentyoffish is definitely racist. Not even Japan is on that list of allowed countries, so you can take out any kind of economic or business consideration out of the equation (which would be somewhat questionable to itself).They included every single English country except just for when their populations are about to become a darker shade ie (also the richest black countries): Bermuda, Bahamas, Cayman and T&T. So Language or reputation of scamming is also not a factor. I hate when people try to make us out as insane fools for noting racism...... be part of the solution, not the problem

Plenty of Fish is a business. A business's number 1 goal no matter what business it is in the world is to make a profit.

Since India had a 65:1 male to female ratio signing up as per the link you posted (and 50 percent of that "1" were escorts) it would skew the website in a way not favorable to business. You can't establish a dating site were the male ratio is overwhelming higher than the female ratio.

Try hosting a party where the male : female ratio his very high. Males don't like it, females think it is weird. When you have close to 1:1 everyone is pretty happy. That's why when hosting an open party you turn away groups coming in with like 6 guys. It doesn't matter if they are white indian black asian or mutherfvcking rainbow if male:female ratio is too high you turn them away.

Plenty of fish did not ban India out of racism, it did out of business sense. Stop crying racism like a little crybaby every-time something doesn't go your way.

How does POF make money? POF is a free service, so it makes money off of advertising dollars. Advertising dollars that usually come from companies that have strong web presences and do a fair amount of business online. Most of these businesses are generally American or english speaking western countries.

What would be the point of having Japan listed or India of those countries do not carry the numbers and market that advertisers want to advertise to.

Your mistake is thinking that POF is here for you. It's the same mistake people make with facebook. POF and FB are here to use you, your desire for communication in exchange for information that it can in turn use to sell to companies who would like to reach you and sell you other products. Go to POF and see who are the biggest advertisers on there and where they are based. That should give you a clue.

As for countries like japan, their market, culture and language barrier may make it to expensive to enter those countries.

While it "may" be racist, it may also not be. And until you have more proof as to their decision making process you really are only giving your opinion and not a factual statement.

Sounds like a good move to me. Personally I don't like dealing with people from other countries particularly in dating sites unless I have to. If the sites URL is in english and the site is written in english then other people don't belong there plain and simple. And i'm not american i'm Cuban and if I saw the same thing with latinos I wouldnt like it either. Indians stay in Indian sites, Cubans stay in Cuban sites, less pissed off people like this. Sucks going to an english forum for help and half the posts are in russian, it's like GET YOUR OWN SITE! ya know?

It's not about race, it's about culture. And in dating sites you generally want to find people with the same ideals as you have. Just use an indian site dude, you guys are very capable of having your own dating sites.
