I've only been with one woman since my first outbreak ended... that's because I'm still with her. And during my first outbreak, I had a fair number of plates spinning. Go figure.Reyaj said:How do you phrase it when you tell a woman? Do you ever keep it from any of them? I did something really risky lately so I want to prepare...
Before I told her, I was already preparing myself for how to handle it. Internet research gives the low-down on things statistically, but message forums are your best friend when it comes to real-life experiences with it. It also helped that my brother has it, so I asked him some stuff about it.
When I brought it up, I just started off with "Do you have any health issues? I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours!
All throughout the whole thing, I was confident about it. I made sure I didn't stick to the subject for very long, just enough to let her know I had it. I figured if I hammered the 5hit out of it, it would appear as if it's a major influence in my life. I also didn't want to paint it as a horribly disgusting flesh-eating disease. The more you ponder it and the more negative you make it, the more you appear as if it negatively affects your life.
Herpes is my most minor health issue, but it's also the only contagious one, so she has a right to know about it. But since it's a minor one, then there's no reason to make it into a major one.
We had sex that night. Not too bad for my first time disclosing it!
