Can someone look into this? It takes about 30 seconds to do.

Yea, remove the timelimit so I can "delete" my posts over and over again! (Credit goes to Giovanni Casanova.)

I think it's important to have a post edit timelimit to ensure/maintain the quality of the threads.

After a few days, a post could have pages worth of replies, where people have spent a lot of time and energy thinking about what to write and posting. If there is no time limit, then the original poster can come back, delete his post, and leave a huge thread that makes no sense with the key questions taken out.

For example, suppose Pook decided to delete his posts because he's sick of this place or for whatever reason, how would the DJ bible look then? And what about all the people who spent so much time replying to him?

Bottom line, the posts here became the property of this site, therefore, they should not be so easy to delete. So don't post anything that you are not 100% sure you'll want to remain here. It's only fair really. It's like sending an email, once you've sent it, you cant go into the recipients inbox and delete it. If you're not sure, then don't send it, or don't post.

The time limit is very much needed for the reasons Cesare cited.

In the past there wasn't a time limit and it became a problem. Now there is a time limit and it is not a problem, though it might seem like a problem if you're new to the site.

Dudes, learn to take responsibility for your words. Preview your post a few times before posting and take the time to make sure it says exactly what you want to say. If you're still unsure you have a small window of time to go back and make edits. Beyond that having more time is not the answer--the answer is to be a man and let your post stand as is.

It's so chickensh1t when people try to go back and change things they posted a while ago.

Also, as Cesare pointed out, the moment that other people invest their time contributing to a thread by posting meaningful replies to someone's post, it disrespects their efforts if the original poster goes back and deletes or changes his post so everyone else's reply suddenly makes no sense.
