my house mate has a Xbox 360, i dont rate them that much, he gets all the best games for them, i do like my game playing when i am sat bored, tbh.
He bought Halo 3, i completed it in about 5 hours, £40 quid for a game that lasts 5 hours, this was on the second hardest setting also.
If i would have bought it i would have been a little piss*d, glad it's not my console.
The games are pritty good, but sadly, i find them getting repetitive, or there over too fast, they are good to play, but i own a pc and if i decide to play a game, i like the experiance to last, like a good book, rather then be over in 5 hours, especcially when one has forked out £40 quid for a game.
I would go for PS2 tbh about it, games will be dirt cheap and you can pick out the best of them all, i dont mind beating a game in 5 hours if it costs little to buy it, but spending 40 on a game that is beating in 2 evenings of play, sorry thats just not on.
The reason i never buy new consoles is because of this, i always buy them when they are past there best, i have an xbox normal and a gamecube, i got the best games for them, now they gather dust.
Ninja Gaiden.
Resident evil, e.t.c
Street fighters.
RPG's
Legend of Zelda's.
Metroid prime.
total cost, for both consoles and the games is probably around the 150 mark, thats playing the best games those consoles had to offer, after they went down in price, with the new console launch.
Once those games are beat, i let them just sit there and gather dust, incase i want to dig out one of those classic games again, or i'll probably give them to a mate as a present or something, my brother has my game cube.
But i must admit i am tempted of buying a Wii, they look alot of fun especcially when you have a girl over.
New consoles, the games cost a fortune, they are over way too fast, then it takes months for another good game to come out, never understood why they sell so fast at there launch, you buy em, play the best few games out, then they just rot, in the corner has they have no use till the next big game comes out, waste of money, you may as well wait.
buy a PS2, make it last, then get an XBox or PS3 when they go down in price, its the best and most cheapest way, if you want multiplayer games i suggest you buy a PC.
Its almost like buying A epic film like Lord of the rings, the full set for 40 quid, would you do it? Sod that, new games are far too expensive.
The most cost effective machine is infact the PC< new games are half price after about a month or two, games that are 6months old can be picked up for about £5. Massive library of classic's, will save money in the long run.
you'd have to be mad to pay over £200+ for a console these days, to then pay for a:
Hard drive
Memory card.
Extra joypad.
Then the games cost almost £50 quid.
far too expensive, considering there nothing but light entertainment.
