I wash my face more than 3 fvcking time a day. Put on a prescription liquid that my dermatologist gave me, and sometimes Benzoil Peroxide.

Yet almost every other day a NEW FVCKING PIMPLE BEGINS TO SET CAMP ON MY GODDAMN FACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is very frustrating I wash my face all the damn time and just when you think you are doing more than enough to get rid of the acne, it is just NOT enough. WTF!?!!?

I have been a pimple popper ever since I developed acne. It has left me many scars on my face. IT SUCKS! My face looks all messed up. Im still sexy but I got cheeks that have the texture of fvcking cottage cheese!

Give me some advice! What can I do to keep pimples from rising up!? They usually take about 2 weeks to dissappear. Some even more! My chin has NEVER EVER been clear, it is left with scars. My cheeks have never EVER been clear. And I now have scars on them. PLEASE HELP ME!

I hope I don't have these scars forever...... I have learned my lesson. I just don't know why it took me so long to realize not to pop my pimples.... its just so TEMPTING. Hahahahaha.....:)

Avoid foods with refined flour, like breads.

Wash your face with warm water to open up the pores more, then wipe your face and wash with cold water, or a facial cleanser.

Sweating helps keep your skin pimple free as well as good cleaning hygene.

Personally I find junk food, refined flour, and sadly a lot of beer, brings about pimples.

#1 and #2 are not good tidbits of advice.

Here's info from the FAQ:

I’m speaking to you from years of actual experience.

See a doctor, or preferably a student doctor who has probably had a lot of these complaints or dermatologist. Reject the suggestion of antibiotics, which is probably the first thing that comes to his or her mind. They work for a very short
time, then they never work again and you become susceptible to many other diseases and guess what? Antibiotics won’t work for those either any more…

I’ve found a combination of Differin and Benzoyl Peroxide cream to be the most effective.

Never use treatments in huge amounts. Sweating does not normally cause a breakout. The sun does not cure acne – it just causes the rest of your face to become redder and to blend in with the colour of your spots that are also hopefully red. Green spots should be seen to by a NASA official.

Food really does cause acne, but working out a diet that exempts the possibility of acne is extremely tedious and difficult. Drinking 8 glasses of water a day will help your skin in other ways (by making it look more healthy). Squeezing spots should be avoided if they are not likely to “pop”. Its gruesome when they do but you really need the discipline to not pop spots that wont pop. Really. Scars left by attempted-pop-spots are not really treatable.

Shave slowly with Mach 3 Turbo, ensuring it isn’t blunt. Use shaving cream.

Never give up. Always go back to a doctor and change the doctor if he or she is not good enough. Really.

Hmmm....

I don't eat junk foods, AT ALL. I am on the CKD diet. Havent eaten any type of junk foods in 5 weeks.

I don't eat any type of breads or refined flours, it is strictly restricted from my diet.

I do drink lots of water. Thats all I have drank for the past 5 weeks. Nothing else.

I usually take a shower twice a day.

The medication prescribed by my dermatologist did work at one point but then it lost all its effect.

Nicholas where is that FAQ from? I would like to know.

I have taken a look at Acne.org. It seems like a good regimen. I will try it.

I think the real cause of me having so many pimples is that I am always touching my face.... I gotta stop that.

Now.... about them scars... are you saying that I am stuck with them for ****ing ever!?!? I have dark spots all over my cheeks..... are they the scars people talk about? They are not deep they just look like miscolored, darker than the rest of my skin.... skin. :)

I actually visited a dermatologist and the answer I got acne's go away with age. It's your hormones that cause it. The medician works temporary on skin. Really the medician does nothing but just slightly slow down the process of acne development which means the bottom line is your going to have acne no matter what. It's just in your gene. Just stop thinking about them and follow some of the tips other posters here gave you.

Anyone notice acne flaring up after going in a pool? Maybe its a reaction caused by the chlorine or something, I seem to breakout a couple hours after or the next morning after going in a pool...anyone else notice this?

Thats so wrong its ridiculous, either your doctor is a quack or you lost something in the translation from doc speak to lay mans terms.

Acne is caused by bacteria. Plain and simple its bacteria that builds up in basically creates a pocket of white blood cells and bacteria in your skin. Hormones, irritation, and many other factors contribute to its appearance.

You don't have to have acne no matter what, you have to get your skin healthy and keep the bacteria levels in check. The more prevalent you are to getting pimples the harder you may have to work to get clear skin.

Anyone with acne should check out www.acne.org

Doctors say all kinds of **** that is clearly wrong, because there are people out there making progress with treatments that flat out contradict their claims.

cut back on acme meds. wash once to twice a day. Use something like olay wash clothc for extra oily skin. If you ever get and infection in your face a nd your doctor prescribes medication bless the lord if its an antibiotic. It'll clear up your face. If your already seeing a dermatologist. Go to him her and tell her your current meds not working you need something else. As her all about it ahow much you should wash your face ect. She'll know more than us. Don't scrub your face be gentl. Acme isn't from food its from hormonal imbalenece. and lack of oils on face.
Also don't use acme medication use someting softer like a coconut oil. It mocks your skins atural oil also make sure the oils not a base of the product. Good luck Scarface

Lso once your acme gets better to unclog your pores use the back of a small ail clippers lieel hook thing that pops out the back. Gently drag it across your face. Avoid popping big pimpples because they will pop. But for collged pores and blackheads it will remove them without scaring. IT works like a cram. The first few times you'll be amazed how much crap was in you pores. Especcially nose ones

I also have an acne problem, getting worse.

few things I've learned.

1. keep your hair short away from face.
2. don't take long hot showers.

Stuff my doctor's (acne specialist, so he claims) been giving me isn't working all that well. He's recommending accutane for next month. Heard that **** really ****s up your body. So this is my last resort before I go on it. A friend of mine recommended it to me, who had severe acne worse than me and said he tried everything including accutane.

ok, ive bin fighting the spot war for about two years now, but recently ive found that their going since ive bin following these simple steps.

1. Wash your face with a soap specifcally designed for pimples twice a day, but don't rub your face really hard, that will just make them sore, and then they'll show up even more.

2. Go to the doctors and get some tablets for your spots.

3. Don't fvckin touch your face, at all, listen i got a quote from somewhere on the net, "if they're hardly visible then why squeeze them it will only make them sore and stand out"

4. Eat 5 fruits a day, and drink 1.5 litres of water a day. (this helps wonders, you have to do this every day)

this really helped me, and i think it will you two if you just stick to the tips.

I used to have acne, so I can sympathize. Near the end of it, I found a soap which worked wonders. Try out a medicated, exfoliating facial scrub that contains natural fibers or micro-beads. I still use St. Ives Medicated Apricot Srub, and you can pick this kind of stuff up at most drug or grocery stores. If your face dries out too much, try out an oil-free, unscented, unperfumed, hypo-allergenic facial mosturizer cream. I highly recommend you try those out.

The first thing one has to realise is that everyone's acne is different. What works perfectly for one person may cause a breakout in another. However, there are some basic facts that can be used to your advantage. Here are some tips:

See a dermatologist. This is the single best thing you can do for your face. He/she will be able to give you professional advice and may prescribe some drugs that are of benefit. Loosely, there are three types of acne, and three treatments for each. Mild acne = a few spots. Most people don't need a doctor to treat this. Moderate acne = quite a few, maybe even a cyst or two - see a doctor. Severe acne = a lot of cysts. It's painful and essential to see a doctor as soon as possible.

  • (a.) Mild acne. This can often be treated using morning and night applications of benzoyl peroxide. (See www.acne.org on how to apply this properly.) An appropiate (i.e., non-perfumed, etc.) wash and moisturizer should also be used.
  • (b.) Moderate acne. Antibiotics (which obviously need a prescription) and various other topical (on your face) creams/gels are usually used. There are four main antibiotics used, the most common are probably oxytetracycline and erythromycin. Use these in the way directed by your doctor and note that their effects will become noticeable gradually. Topical solutions include nicotinamide, adapalene, isotretinoin (retinoids) and even antibiotics. It's important to follow a regimen of treatments strictly and properly.
  • (c.) Severe acne. Oral isotretinoin (Accutane or Roaccutane) is usually used here. It's a very strong drug and is regulated strictly. Use it properly and be aware of side-effects. Don't EVER use it without a prescription and supervision by a dermatologist. (Chances are, if you need this, you'll know as much about acne as I.)
Use your treatments effectively. Don't stop treatment if it gets worse; this is often the case when using a new drug.

Although the offical line is that "food is unrelated to acne," I beg to differ. Some foods such as orange juice are proven to give nasty cysts. Avoid foods that you think may make you break out. Experiment a little. Drink plenty of water and go easy on your liver. Consider whether you are getting enough vitamins and/or minerals.

Remember that acne is hormonal. Get professional help for it, even if only to avoid scarring. By the way, this post at www.acne.org is quite interesting.

No, no, no, no, no...

Soap has a 5-8% effect on acne. Its good for squeezing the remaining effect if added to everything else you do, but it should not be a primary measure.

2. Go to the doctors and get some tablets for your spots.
Tablets mess up your immune system a little. Soon, you won't be able to use antibiotics to cure anything else that antibiotics may have originally been able to cure. Your body gets used to them, and even worse, they even stop working on acne too.

GET TOPICAL CREAMS - Ones that aren't harsh. Differin, for example, is quite effective if effectively applied, and even smells nice!

3. Don't fvckin touch your face, at all, listen i got a quote from somewhere on the net, "if they're hardly visible then why squeeze them it will only make them sore and stand out"
I agree. Touching is ONLY bad because the temptation to squeeze is too much.

4. Eat 5 fruits a day, and drink 1.5 litres of water a day. (this helps wonders, you have to do this every day)
Nonsense!

Fruit is generally good for you, but for maximum effect you're going to want to cut out ALL fatty foods, eat ONLY egg yolks, raw! Sparse amounts of brown breads, brazil nuts...etc. In fact, I've forgotton the exact diet, but it's darned effective (ZERO SPOTS) but stupidly difficult.

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.
